Free Download: Lana Del Rey - Old Money (Kevin Heder Remix)

Lana Del Rey's Ultraviolence album has sold over a million copies since its release six months ago and it's a truly stunning album. We absolutely love it with its amazing storytelling, darkness and cinematic qualities. One of the highlights is the story of Old Money paired with gorgeous strings and dreamy voice. German based DJ Kevin Heder builds on the bare bones of the original production and adds some spookiness and a gentle club sound. Really cool to hear this treatment and we just wanna throw a big party in an abandoned mansion and play this really loud to all the guests. We're sure even the ghosts would start dancin' to this one! Listen + download below. Enjoy!

Best of '14: The Year In Music

This year, for us, has truly flown by and we're blown away that it's already time to sum up all the music! As always it's been a true pleasure listening and talking with ya'll and we send each and every one of you a big thank you! The golden songs for us this year are too many to count so we collected 50 of our top tracks and put them together with with no particular ranking. Below is the Soundcloud player and we've also created the same for Spotify and Deezer so feel free to take your pick of platform! Due to copyright restrictions they differ slightly but each is roughly the same 50 tracks! Standouts for us this year has been the magic of Jessie Ware, Röyksopp & Robyn's Do It Again era, FKA twigs' experimental beats and George Maple's insanely good Talk Talk single. Speaking of twigs - her concert in Copenhagen was our live highlight of the year. Incredible! Being named in October by Deezer as one of the best music blogs from Sweden was an awesome moment and we gotta say we're having a true badass time curating and finding gems! Here's to 2015 and a new stellar year together! Enjoooooy! :D

Premiere: Lana Del Rey - Big Eyes + I Can Fly

Lana Del Rey drops two brand new tracks for Tim Burton's upcoming biopic Big Eyes about painter Margaret Keane starring Amy Adams. Both Big Eyes and I Can Fly are luxurious ballads that soars and moves us. The former has a gorgeous brass section that sounds amazing. Lyric wise it focuses on the film plot with Margaret's fraud of a husband who claimed falsely her paintings as his own work. It's a very cinematic sound and we love it! The second one, which will be played during the closing credits, is classic Lana with icy strings and killer lyrics about caged up waiting to fly over a dramatic wall of music. Listen, listen below! Thoughts?!

Premiere: Lana Del Rey - Brooklyn Baby (Monsieur Adi Remix)

Erm, we might have to rename the blog to Lana Says Relax, and that's fine by us. Keep new mixes comin' plz! Lana Del Rey, her cool Brooklyn Baby boyfriend, Lou Reed, the feathers in her hair, beat poetry and hydroponic weed gets an electronic makeover by cool Parisian Monsieur Adi. Yas, the bohemian chic, hippie-esque quality of the original gets replaced by a sleek, shiny, hard surface with sharp edges and bright light. We really like juxtaposition of the laid-back vocals with the brooding synths and a pace that is not in a hurry for a mix like this. Too nice! Enjoy!

Premiere: Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence (Crom & Thanh Remix)

From a stellar Lana Del Rey cover to a house treatment of Ultraviolence. It's been a good week in Lanaland! Berliner DJ duo Crom & Thanh takes all the slow burning violence and turns it into a close to 8 minute feast of a looped piano, suggestive and hypnotic oooh's not to mention a new killer bassline. There's a lot going on and we don't mind one bit. Dancing with melancholia never felt so sweet like dancin' with Lana at a Berlin club, crying into the ice cold beer and wait for that text that'll never arrive... Enjoy!
