Best of '14: The Year In Music

This year, for us, has truly flown by and we're blown away that it's already time to sum up all the music! As always it's been a true pleasure listening and talking with ya'll and we send each and every one of you a big thank you! The golden songs for us this year are too many to count so we collected 50 of our top tracks and put them together with with no particular ranking. Below is the Soundcloud player and we've also created the same for Spotify and Deezer so feel free to take your pick of platform! Due to copyright restrictions they differ slightly but each is roughly the same 50 tracks! Standouts for us this year has been the magic of Jessie Ware, Röyksopp & Robyn's Do It Again era, FKA twigs' experimental beats and George Maple's insanely good Talk Talk single. Speaking of twigs - her concert in Copenhagen was our live highlight of the year. Incredible! Being named in October by Deezer as one of the best music blogs from Sweden was an awesome moment and we gotta say we're having a true badass time curating and finding gems! Here's to 2015 and a new stellar year together! Enjoooooy! :D 

Premiere: Imogen Heap - Run-Time

Fantastic composer Imogen Heap's new concept album Sparks is set to be released on August 18th and we're thrilled! The first taster we got was Lifeline, well over three years ago! Brand new single Run-Time is a collaboration with Intel and Reality Jockey to produce a jogging app. The demo was used in early 2013 showcasing the physical prototype hosting the app. All things aside the actual music is amazing and those, by now, trademarked heaped (yes, pun!) vocals are too good! We absolutely love the synth vibes and how anthem friendly it is! The chorus is an earmworm and the production is so tight and flawless we cannot even. On top it sounds like it's a true labour of love with sparks flying everywhere - loads fun recording this we bet! Enjoy below. Thoughts? Note: the track vanished in just a few minutes after being posted, but as of Monday the 30th of June is back up again, hence our post being that, too. 

Imogen Heap - Lifeline (heapsong1) - New Single

We like this new song and the idea behind it a lot. Imogen Heap's brand new single Lifeline started it's life as #heapsong1, being a crowdsourcing project. 2 weeks ago Imogen asked fans to contribute audio ideas via SoundCloud to build a song around. The next day fans could upload lyric ideas on the microsite for the track, the most popular ones incorporated into the final lyrics. 3 days later a middle section of the track was made available and fans asked to contribute solos to be added. Fans have also had the chance to upload stills and video for a possible inclusion in the final video for Lifeline. Imogen says:

“There's so much going on in my life with touring, talks and tech that the choice to do this was both a temporal necessity coupled with my passion for collaborative, spontaneous and creative projects. I also love the idea that the seeds of the song begins with the fans making a full circle when it's experienced as a finished piece."

We love this idea of genuine Imogen Heap fans having this much input in the finished body of work. So cool! The material used will be credited and paid appropriately. Imogen will release new crowdsourced material every three months for the next 3 years until the album is completed. Visit the microsite here for a peek of what's around the corner.
