Video Premiere: BANKS - Trainwreck

Visuals from BANKS are always dark and moody treats and the ones to Trainwreck are beyond! He The Altar album is such a emotive body of work and it deserves stunning visual treatments to say the least. Trainwreck the video paits BANKS the artist with what her label might want from her as a popstar. It's an intriguing world to step into and we love how she's so consistent with her work even though she could easily become a 'airplay hit artist' if she wanted to, we're sure. The ending is too damn good! Thoughts?     

Premiere: BANKS - Mind Games

BANKS is delivering heavy duty goods with new material from her upcoming The Altar album (out Septmeber 30). Brand new Mind Games is an enchanted forest of sounds with dark and twisted vocals hidden deep in the mix. Shining like a black diamond in a deep well is the lead vocal that is sharp and filled with angst, just like we like our BANKS, haha. The song elements are cohesive, suggestive and dramatic. Not to mention the absolute gorgeous outro. Top marks! 

Video Premiere: BANKS - Fuck With Myself

Brand new BANKS! Fuck With Myself is dark and suggestive as her debut album and we love it. Her sharp and distinct vocals twist and turn over a sparse beat and it's part 90's R&B, part Björk. LOVE! Her whispering is so damn cool, we just wanna sing this chorus walking down the street stat. The breakdown is velevety electronic goodness and gorgeous. The visuals are equally as striking. That BANKS head with her eyes closed is so effective for herself to abuse and the warehouse beings with that blue light and wide lens lends a hand in your next uneasy dream. Too nice! 

Video Premiere: BANKS - Better

Yes, brand new BANKS! Ahead of her tour start with The Weeknd next week we get Better - a gorgeous and spooky track filled with angst and beauty. Sublime! We love! Her voice drives us crazy with that depth and soaring qualities. She's so amazing with her melodies and there's something that disturbs us at the same times as it's soothing. Strange and phenomenal. The visuals are stunning, too. The fact that we never truly see her face, she's lurking in the shadows yet so present. The combination of her gold painted body and the raw nakedness of other clips is just elegant and effective. The whole picture is just awesome and a must this week. Thoughts?  

Premiere: Chet Faker Feat. BANKS - 1998

Absolutely loving the Chet Faker & BANKS collaboration 1998! Wow, tune! Its original is featured on the Faker EP Built on Glass and now re-worked into a duet. Since both artists possess such distinctive voices and infuse their own tracks with such acute awareness and presence this is a match made in electro lo-fi R&B heaven. It's so hot and direct and just makes you crazy. Actually, it's so good we could shed a tear, haha. ENJOY!
