Premiere: Mr. Tophat Feat. Robyn - Right Time

Mr. Tophat and Robyn are releasing the EP Trust Me on January 13th and here is some more sweet beats from it. Remember lead single Trust Me from late last year? Right Time is a bonbon filled with swirls of light and dark, a sweet and salty treat. It reminds in parts of New Order's Blue Monday and the jazz force is also strong with this one. Steeped in the heady world of nightlife and nocturnal events it sounds like a classic 12" to pull out when you really wanna impress a crowd. Robyn is as always trying on new things and her distinct vocals really makes a record stand out. Top marks! Thank U, Rapha!   

Premiere: Mr. Tophat Feat. Robyn - Trust Me

Lovin' this! Mr. Tophat and Robyn teamed up for the Main Thing remix earlier this year and now we have mooore. Here's a brand new jam - Trust Me! Robyn has been on a roll these last few years with all her collaborations - Neneh Cherry, Kindness, La Bagatelle Magique to name but a few, this adds to the collections so nicely. It sounds so genuine and like they had a proper blast creating it. Coming off like a love child of a 70's San Francisco disco club and long summer nights clubbing in Stockholm with an organic groove and a lil' string action, paired with those distinct Robyn vocals and a quirky & jazzy soundscape. Premiere: Metronomy With Robyn - Hang Me Out to Dry

Metronomy are preparing for the July 1st release of new album Summer 08. One of the first tasters is a collaboration with Robyn! Hang Me Out to Dry almost sounds like two tracks mashed together as Robyn and Joseph Mount's vocals sounds like they were recorded separately and then fitted together. We love the airy and experimental feel of the track and how the energy builds and drops. Same with the vocals, they are both whispers and edgy, raw and soft. Listen below! Thoughts?  

Best of '15: The Year In Music

Wow, 2015 has really flown by - at least to us! We are having so much fun listening to hot beats and writing this blog and wanna thank you for being right there with us! THANK YOU! This year we've been listening to a ton of amazing breaking artists - Jones, Elias, Kacy Hill, the list goes on & on. We got a brand new album from Róisín Murphy - the first in 8 years and Björk produced the mother of all breakup albums and took us on an emotional journey through icy barren land. We met Little Boots in Copenhagen and it was a true pleasure - so nice + she gave us a sneak peek of her then upcoming (awesome) album.
