Grimes is coming for us hard with the secod release from her Art Angels album. Kill V. Maim is already badass as a track with its rough and dirty production filled with rock references and synth influences. LOVE. The video, self-directed and edited, is sickenin' and so much to take in. It's fun, badass, grimey and gory - perfect. ENJOY. 

Best of '15: The Year In Music

Wow, 2015 has really flown by - at least to us! We are having so much fun listening to hot beats and writing this blog and wanna thank you for being right there with us! THANK YOU! This year we've been listening to a ton of amazing breaking artists - Jones, Elias, Kacy Hill, the list goes on & on. We got a brand new album from Róisín Murphy - the first in 8 years and Björk produced the mother of all breakup albums and took us on an emotional journey through icy barren land. We met Little Boots in Copenhagen and it was a true pleasure - so nice + she gave us a sneak peek of her then upcoming (awesome) album. Video Premiere: Grimes - Flesh without Blood/Life in the Vivid Dream

Grimes is back with new music! Two brand new tracks just dropped in one go - Flesh without Blood/Life in the Vivid Dream and they share video concept and all. We can already hear Grimes purists shrieking in horror though. Yas, it's true - we are a looong way from the Visions album and glorious singles/videos like Oblivion and Genesis. It however looks like Claire herself is having mad fun and Flesh... is a cracker of a pop song! The vocals are on point and the guitar is catchy and driven. The 2nd song reminds us a bit of, wait for it, ENYA (!) and we never saw that comin' at us. The video is bright, serving updated sneakers Marie Antoinette realness for days and months amongst the various lewks. There's a strong undercurrent of sadness, both lyrically and how the mood in the video switches from happy to violent. 'ave a look below - thoughts? New album Art Angels is out November 6! 

Video Premiere: Grimes Feat. Blood Diamonds - Go

Grimes and Blood Diamonds live it up in the video to Go. Hair and shoe game be on pointttt for both. Those adidas sandals and when she dances in 'em and in tights. Haha, it's too much! The visuals are both club and olden world with swords and we're curious to see where this will take with her core audience. After all, this song marks the start of her major deal with Roc Nation, and the track was originally written by Grimes with Rihanna in mind. Alsooo, for some reason we came to think of this club classic seeing the look they went for. Yes? You like?

Premiere: Kiesza - Giant In My Heart (Blood Diamonds Remix)

Ooo, listen to this remix of Kiesza's Giant In My Heart! Fellow Canadian and Grimes collaborator Blood Diamonds strips the original version of its 90's house feel and adds some serious contemporary club feel with a black depth hidden in the folds of that angsty pitched down voice. We really like it and started to imagine what it would sound like if all three Canadians worked together. Now that Grimes is trying on a more pop sound imagine working with Kieza and Blood Diamonds! They'd blow everyone else out of the water for sure! Enjoy below! Thoughts?
