Premiere: The Weeknd & Daft Punk - Starboy

The Weeknd and Daft Punk are slaying with Starboy - the brand new single they've done together and just dropped. Such an excellent track that seamlessly blends the classic soundscapes of both acts. Yeah, baby! Absolutely lovin' Abęl's fantastic vocals and depth against the robo-funk of the beat, complete vith Daft vocoder backing vocals and all. It's a dizzying song filled with starry nights and despair, love and warmth trickling down through it all. This also marks the first new Daft music since their 2013 Random Access Memories album, and also new Weeknd since his major breakthrough last year with Beauty Behind the Madness. Top marks!  

Premiere: Say Lou Lou - Instant Crush (Daft Punk Cover)

Miranda and Elektra Kilbey a.k.a. Say Lou Lou celebrate signing to Columbia Records by doing a cover of label mates Daft Punk & Julian Casablancas and givin' it way (kinda) for free. Their take on Instant Crush tones down the robotics and breathes a new kind of life into the lyrics. More personal. It's airy like a cool night by a fading fire that gleams and slowly pulsates. We love Dimitri From Paris mixes and re-edits and here's another one! Paft Dunk styleee and it's safe to say after hearing this track about two million times in the last year we indeed Got Lucky many a time, haha. It never loses its fresh shine though! The Best of 2013: The Year In Music

We were gonna post our annual Best of list on Monday. But with the hurricane force winds and floodings (right outside our HQ) in Europe now is a good a time as any for some sweet beats! It's been another incredible year in music and we wanna say thank you for a true pleasure listening together with ya'll! Standouts for us has been the dreampop of Say Lou Lou, Sky Ferreira's debut album, the return of MKS, David Lynch working with Lykke Li, Blood Orange sending us into heaven and the return of both David Bowie and Annie. Well honestly, the whole list is a true statement of what we absolutely love with no particular ranking. We saw The Knife live front and center in May at their Copenhagen gig and have a memory for life. Sheer brilliance! The fact that M.I.A., Sky Ferreira and Annie shared links to this blog on Twitter is just nuts and amazing! Thank you so much! Last week we took part in the Digital Agenda for Music conference in Stockholm along with Robyn and representatives from the government, technology and music industry sectors. Eh, amazing! We cannot wait for what '14 has in store and continue to grow and bring you the most awesome beats around. Thank you and enjoy!

That sick Nile Rodgers guitar always gives us life and Ellie sounds more loosened up to really burn, burn, burn, burn. The organic disco sound really suits her style and vocal delivery! We love Pharell Williams original vox but after hearing Get Lucky everywhere the last six months it's very refreshing to hear this track with a new voice. The person behind is Norwegian producer Cosmic Dawn and we can't thank enough. Time to invest in some bell bottoms and platforms and d.a.n.c.e! Enjoy!
