Premiere: Seinabo Sey - Rather Be (Clean Bandit Cover)

Amazing Seinabo Sey just released her debut EP For Madeleine (dedicated to her mother, yes, Madeleine) and continues her epic rise as the voice of a generation. Exactly how stunningly superb she is and what depth her voice really has is on display right here if there ever was doubt (no there wasn't). Seinabo has taken Clean Bandit's awesome UK #1 monster hit Rather Be and turned its classical and 90's house sound into a tender torch song. The original is the fastest selling single in the UK this year and no wonder - it's perfect. But this acoustic version makes the sentiment of the song really shine with a gorgeous muted light. It makes us happy and want to cry all at once and isn't that really what you want from music; the stirring of emotions and what that brings forward? Damn, this is absolute perfection. Can you even imagine what her debut album will do to us?! Be prepared to hit repeat below! Enjoy!

Premiere: Seinabo Sey - Pistols At Dawn

Seinabo Sey continues to shine with her special muted light. Love it! Pistols At Dawn opens with a dramatic intro and then that booming voice of hers starts slowly to unravel the story of a relationship gone horribly wrong. The killer chrous begins with a gun shot and it's so cinematic we need a movie made stat! If Kill Bill 3 happens next year this song should be in the opening title. The analogy of having a show down instead of staying strong together is spot on since we know it's a thin line between love and hate. Let's get this done... As always - super tight production by Magnus Lidehäll a.k.a. Filthy. Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare acts as co-writers and this super foursome need to stick together for the whole Sey album - or else it's a show down at dawn for sure!

Premiere: Seinabo Sey - Hard Time

Seinabo Sey continues to explore some truly amazing sonic atmospheres. After the magical debut Younger late last year we're getting a Hard Time as a follow up. Something in her voice makes us really pay attention to what she sings. It's commanding without becoming intrusive - just really bright shining and urging. The music has a glistening piano, throbbing bassline and a complex structure over all. Those drums! As with Younger Seinabo's worked with Magnus Lidehäll a.k.a Filthy and one can only hope they stay as close together for the full album! Their collaboration sounds exciting yet staying cohesive and most of all - like the real deal. Enjoy!

Free Download: Seinabo Sey - Younger (20syl Remix)

We've been bangin' on the last few weeks about new Swedish artist Seinabo Sey and her infectious and thought provoking debut single Younger. Now less than a week until xmas we're getting a tropical themed remix by French DJ Sylvain Richard a.k.a 20syl. It's like biting into a tasty orange for sure. Full of sweet juice and sunshine! The sentiment rings clear still though; go follow your dreams, you're not getting any younger now, are you?

The Best of 2013: The Year In Music

We were gonna post our annual Best of list on Monday. But with the hurricane force winds and floodings (right outside our HQ) in Europe now is a good a time as any for some sweet beats! It's been another incredible year in music and we wanna say thank you for a true pleasure listening together with ya'll! Standouts for us has been the dreampop of Say Lou Lou, Sky Ferreira's debut album, the return of MKS, David Lynch working with Lykke Li, Blood Orange sending us into heaven and the return of both David Bowie and Annie. Well honestly, the whole list is a true statement of what we absolutely love with no particular ranking. We saw The Knife live front and center in May at their Copenhagen gig and have a memory for life. Sheer brilliance! The fact that M.I.A., Sky Ferreira and Annie shared links to this blog on Twitter is just nuts and amazing! Thank you so much! Last week we took part in the Digital Agenda for Music conference in Stockholm along with Robyn and representatives from the government, technology and music industry sectors. Eh, amazing! We cannot wait for what '14 has in store and continue to grow and bring you the most awesome beats around. Thank you and enjoy!
