Premiere: Say Lou Lou - Stayin' Alive (Bee Gees Cover)

Wow! Say Lou Lou kick start their new era with a disco classic! The 1977 Bee Gees original defines the disco era along with the full Saturday Night Fever soundtrack that they produced for the film classic. This cover has its roots more in *dream pop* with a singer songwriter approach. It's dirtier and that extended note send shivers of pleasure down our spine. Nice! This gem is out t o d a y via the sisters own label á Deux Records - enjoy! Alsoooo - don't miss their 2014 cover of Daft Punk

Tribute: El Perro Del Mar - I Would Die 4 U (Prince Cover)

To express what Prince's music means to us in a few sentences is simply impossible. He was a wonderful musician - a genius and truly the ear zero for modern music, all is to be found in his vast catalogue. His death last week really felt and still feels unreal. A world without him in it is unimaginable. How absolutely amazing that the wondrous El Perro Del Mar puts what cannot be said with words into a stunning cover of the sumblime I Would Die 4 U off of 1984's landmark Prince and The Revolution album + OST to Purple Rain. The sorrow in this cover is palpable and her broken tone really hits home how utterly sad this time in music really is. She recorded it  at home the other day with what she had there - a tabla drum machine + analogue synth. The wonky tone is perfection for this and its urgency paired with the emotive vocals + heavenly lyrics makes for a stunning listen that brought tears to our eyes the first time we heard it last night and continues even now when pressing play. The spoken intro from a mid 80's MTV interview is amazing - Prince truly was something that we cannot fully comprehend and how amazing we got to share the planet with him for a period of time. R.I.P. brilliant force of nature!

Premiere: St. Vincent - Emotional Rescue (The Rolling Stones Cover)

Hell yes! New St. Vincent! For the A Bigger Splash OST she's recorded a cover of The Rolling Stones 1980 hit Emotional Rescue. SO HOT! We loooove the more funky sound to Annie's version. It's less gritty but more urgent somehow. Polished yet evokes serious hotness. PLUS THAT SAX! Saxy sax and a funky bassline + guitar riffs with a hot vocal on top - perfection. Enjoy!

Premiere: Ben Abraham - Hyperballad (Björk Cover)

Björk's incredible Hyperballad had its single release from Post exactly 20 years ago today. Wow! Australian artist Ben Abraham has done a cover of it to celebrate and it's a gorgeous take. Ben's amazing voice over a stunning string arrangement by Luke Howard really does the original justice. It's a fresh look from the top of the mountain without losing any of the earthy roots. The same goes for the electronic Tim Shiel. It's a shimmering tone that gleams and striking like a ray of light on a dark summer morning. All in all: top marks! Ben's debut album Sirens is out on March 4th via Secretly Canadian.

Premiere: Marina and The Diamonds - True Colors (Cyndi Lauper Cover)

The wonderful Marina Diamandis is giving us all a treat for the new year! She's done a cover of Cyndi Lauper's 1986 monster hit come evergreen and LGBT anthem True Colors and just dropped it. For some reason she omits the words "like a rainbow" but hey, it's good anyway! Maybe it even gives more mystique to her cover? The organic take reminds us of a lot of Ane Brun's MAGICAL take. Listen below!
