Premiere: Marina and The Diamonds - True Colors (Cyndi Lauper Cover)

The wonderful Marina Diamandis is giving us all a treat for the new year! She's done a cover of Cyndi Lauper's 1986 monster hit come evergreen and LGBT anthem True Colors and just dropped it. For some reason she omits the words "like a rainbow" but hey, it's good anyway! Maybe it even gives more mystique to her cover? The organic take reminds us of a lot of Ane Brun's MAGICAL take. Cyndi Lauper scored big in January 1984 when Time After Time was released as the second single from her debut album She's So Unusual. Not only did it become her first US #1 but also it became a worldwide hit and tested against time it's officially an evergreen. It's such a heart warming song and really comes across as so genuine and understated. Rhythm Scholar takes it in his arms and swirls a whole lotta cinematic elements into the mix. Not only is Marlene Dietrich and Charles Boyer sampled from 1936 movie The Garden of Allah as showed in the video intro - but we get some really hot brass action going on and such an airy feel. Like anything is possible if you just hold on and look for the good in people. ENJOY!

Wow, this is a viral video waiting to happen. Check out Cyndi Lauper who got bored of waiting for her delayed flight in Buenos Aires, and treated the whole airport (literally) by singing her classic Girls Just Wanna Have Fun across the speaker system. Werk!
