Free Download: Björk - Notget (ill-ēsha Edit/Remix)

We're truly transfixed by Björk's Vulnicura album era. It's so sad and beautiful and defiant and gorgeous all wrapped up with a black bow. The new word Notget alone makes us shiver with both joy and pain. The removal of the space between the words - amazing. Denver based producer ill-ēsha takes the original mix and drops her own beat on it in the space between a remix and a re-edit. It allows the sun to shine a bit on the darkness which is something we all need sometimes. We have the official remix from Lotic to turn to if we need some fragmented sorrow again. Enjoy below!

Free Download: Dolly Parton - Jolene (Todd Terje Remix)

Last year we posted this beaut of a bootleg of Dolly Parton's iconic 1973 hit now turned evergreen - Jolene. Here's a new one from Norwegian superhero DJ Todd Terje! The stellar and instantly recognizable guitar riff shines in what seems like an endless loop. We're getting some trippy vibes from a superb cocktail bar where the drinks are long and the tears taste of champagne. Imagine a full Dolly remix album utilizing the original acapella tracks and original stems - we'd be flying! Go grab the download below, enjoy!

Free Download: Soul ll Soul - Back to Life (However Do You Want Me) [Joshua Pathon Edit]

Soul ll Soul's iconic 1989 super hit Back to Life (However Do You Want Me) started its life as an acapella on debut album Club Classics Vol. One and was remixed for the single release. Wise move with the latter! Come more than 25 years on and it still lights up any dance floor around the world. Caron Wheeler's lead vocals are on point with the gorgeous backing vocals providing a sturdy friend + how amazing is the music and production providing such an iconic spine to sing a long to + making it impossible to sit still. No wonder as it's co-produced by Nellee Hooper, later known for his incredible work with the likes of Björk, Massive Attack and Sinéad O'Connor to mention just a few. Aussie DJ Joshua Pathon extends the goodness and makes it perfect for any club night - it plays like a classic 12"! Enjoy below and find the download here!

Free Download: Sade - I Never Thought I'd See the Day (LNTG Rework)

We're delighted that Sade's mellow masterpiece I Never Thought I'd See the Day from 1988's Stronger Than Pride album is receiving so much love. Remember this absolute gem of a bootleg from earlier this year? Aussie DJ Late Nite Tuff Guy infuses the sadness with a heavy dose of luxurious lounge qualities. This is the kind of heartbreak we don't mind! The added groove is soothing and really warms up the sharp saxophone and puts an arm around the lonesome voice of Sade Adu. Top marks truly. Enjoy + download below!

Free Download: Sinéad O'Connor - Mandinka (Justin Strauss' 1988 Extended Mix)

Sinéad O'Connor released Mandinka in December 1987 as the second single from her debut album The Lion and the Cobra and things really kicked off for her. The song served as her first US network television live performance (on David Letterman) and in 1989 she performed it at the Grammy Awards. As part of her big push in the US now legendary New York DJ Justin Strauss remixed it for the club 12". In true amazing 80's fashion he extended it, keeping the original work's integrity, and added some (now) classic 80's sounds and a lil' piano. The mix down sounds different as well. Sinéad's voice is deeper in the mix and the sounds is a bit more club. Amazing time document to have on a Saturday, this would've been done on a reel-to-reel, pressed on vinyl and imagine people later going crazy over it in a club basement later having beers and dancing like crazy. Niiiiice. Enjoy + download below!
