Last year we posted this beaut of a bootleg of Dolly Parton's iconic 1973 hit now turned evergreen - Jolene. Here's a new one from Norwegian superhero DJ Todd Terje! The stellar and instantly recognizable guitar riff shines in what seems like an endless loop. We're getting some trippy vibes from a superb cocktail bar where the drinks are long and the tears taste of champagne. Dolly Parton's 1973 masterpiece Jolene is easily one of our all time favourite songs. It's perfect in its starkness and direct complexity. The instant guitar hook, raw delivery on a heavy subject and amazing harmonies all build greatness. East London duo Sub Secret twists and turns the emotive vocals and releases brand new emotions from it. They're a bit subdued here and paired with a chopped up guitar and gorgeous piano. Usually Dolly bootlegs can be pretty heavy handed, haha. This one however hits all the marks. It's a new take that delivers on the suprise factor but also in an excellent execution and production. Dolly Parton - Platinum Blonde - A Sunday Documentary

We have to make sure to catch Dolly Parton on her next tour - as we've never seen her live. Would be so awesome! This BBC doc tracks her roots and even has material from her very first radio performance as a child in Tennessee & we get to meet her mama! Since this aired originally she's written the Academy Award nominated Travelin' Thru and started her own record imprint Dolly Records - and found mainstream success with her Backwoods Barbie and Better Day albums. Dolly is a brilliant songwriter and this doc shows she's excellent keeping track of her catalogue as well. We really like that she's true to her core whilst exploring the world and its opportunities. Enjoy!

Dolly Parton - Together You and I - New Single!

Aunt Dolly will release her 43rd studio album Better Day on June 28th and follow with a new world tour. We love that she's so dedicated to her work! Together You and I is the first single to be lifted from the album and is a radio friendly track that we can see music programmers across midwest America going nuts over. Have a listen belooow! Dolly is also making a video, using footage from fans. So cute!
