Full BBC Documentary: The Kate Bush Story - Running Up That Hill

Legendary innovator n' casual badass Kate Bush launchs her first concert series in 35 years next week at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London. To coincide with this amazing occasion the BBC has produced a brand new documentary chronicling the Bush story. Elusive as ever, Kate herself, of course, is nowhere to be seen apart from stock footage from interviews and TV appearances. This feels 100% correct and it's amazing to get a summary concentrated like this. What we get that's newly produced is interviews with the likes of Tori Amos, Bat For Lashes, Tricky and St. Vincent expressing their enormous adoration. It's wonderful to see, she truly is an artist's artist. A singer's singer. We also get a peek inside with new interviews with key collaborators such as Dave Gilmore, Peter Gabriel and Lindsay Kemp. Not to mention a slight personal angle from her (now ex-) boyfriend of 10+ years Del Palmer, who also has worked extensively as her sound engineer. The mix is enticing and we love how accessible Kate seems for just a fleeting second. Enjoy the full hour below! Thoughts?

Full Documentary: When Björk Met Attenborough: The Nature of Music

Can we just say we could not stop smiling watching When Björk Met Attenborough last night. The warmth and kindness exuding is extraordinary to say the least. Also, it's a joy to see people wanting to communicate to people what they have discovered and at the same time also so curious to find out more. The Biophilia project is still on a world tour, the album and apps released almost two years ago now with the Android versions just released so perfect timing immersing in this documentary! Honestly we could go on and on... Tilda Swinton as the narrator is perfection guiding us via Australian nature scenes to choir rehersals on Iceland. The connection we all have to the universe, the tinest microbes on earth and music is just mind blowing and really puts things into perspective. The power of music and the impact on dementia, similarities to crystals and the mathematics of it all. We are all part of this magical world and Björk's way of showing us we can't thank her enough for. Enjoy the full documentary below; it's one of the best hours you'll spend all year we dare say.

Amy Winehouse - The Girl Done Good - A Sunday Doc

Ugh, tomorrow marks a year since the passing of Amy Winehouse. Time flies and it's still such a sad loss for us music lovers. In her short but incredible career Amy did things other merely can dream of. Her two studio albums are landmarks and we know already they are timeless pieces. Still it's heartbreaking that she gave us a soundtrack to live our lives to - but couldn't find that inner peace herself. We can only hope that where ever you are Amy now it's filled with more light and music for you! In the wait for the definitive look at her life and career here's a UK doc that was made during her lifetime - The Girl Done Good. Yes you did! Further reading if you wanna is The Guardian's piece from this week!

He was born in 1926 - when there was just under 2 billion humans around - since this film aired the first time in 2009 we've hit 7 billion people. Dolly Parton - Platinum Blonde - A Sunday Documentary

We have to make sure to catch Dolly Parton on her next tour - as we've never seen her live. Would be so awesome! This BBC doc tracks her roots and even has material from her very first radio performance as a child in Tennessee & we get to meet her mama! Since this aired originally she's written the Academy Award nominated Travelin' Thru and started her own record imprint Dolly Records - and found mainstream success with her Backwoods Barbie and Better Day albums. Dolly is a brilliant songwriter and this doc shows she's excellent keeping track of her catalogue as well. We really like that she's true to her core whilst exploring the world and its opportunities. Enjoy!
