Video Premiere: Björk - Black Lake

The video for Björk's Vulnicura epos Black Lake has been screening at the MoMA in New York for the last three months. Here it finally is online and honestly we can all go home now. It's the definite breakup song and the visuals are piercing to say the least and magnificent. Shot on Iceland in the highlands it tells a dark story of utter heartbreak. The video is brilliantly directed by Andrew Thomas Huang and goes above and beyond to really hammer the message home. Watching it makes you feel a bit powerless since the only thing you wanna do is stop Björk from hurting. It's hypnotizing to watch the darkness surround her and her Iris van Herpen outfits truly makes her become one with nature. The ending gives a sigh of relief until that moment you realize; where is she going?

Video Premiere: Björk - Stonemilker (360 Degree Virtual Reality)

The video to Björk's gorgeous Vulnicura album opener, Stonemilker, is finally out! It's an epic one with many Björks wandering around the stunning Icelandic landscape and shot in a revolutionary 360 degree panoramic view by Andrew Huang. The interactive side to a youtube video feels like the start of something really fresh + opens up to a whole host of new and interesting ideas. Leave it to Björk to start a revolution! The visuals make perfect sense to the barren yet beautiful nature of the song - a relationship on the verge of falling apart with memories floating around. Watch below and move around using your fingers on a tablet or use your trackpad! Thoughts?

Video Premiere: Laleh - Some Die Young (International Version)

Sweden's multi-talented Laleh is serving some real Icelandic amazingness in the international video to her now Scandinavian modern classic Some Die Young. We've listened to it since the January '12 release so awesome to see it's getting a wider release! Life is precious and the importance of valuing it, send out love and kindness and enjoy your time here on Earth can never be remembered enough. This song has helped so many people in Norway with the grieving after the horrific bombing and mass shootings and just thinking about it brings tears to our eyes. We love Iceland so it's a real treat to see the gorgeous landscape and amazing views. Laleh is both the dark and light side of life embodied and it's done in a simple but most effective way. Enjoy below and call someone you love - we just did!

Full Documentary: When Björk Met Attenborough: The Nature of Music

Can we just say we could not stop smiling watching When Björk Met Attenborough last night. The warmth and kindness exuding is extraordinary to say the least. Also, it's a joy to see people wanting to communicate to people what they have discovered and at the same time also so curious to find out more. The Biophilia project is still on a world tour, the album and apps released almost two years ago now with the Android versions just released so perfect timing immersing in this documentary! Honestly we could go on and on... Tilda Swinton as the narrator is perfection guiding us via Australian nature scenes to choir rehersals on Iceland. The connection we all have to the universe, the tinest microbes on earth and music is just mind blowing and really puts things into perspective. The power of music and the impact on dementia, similarities to crystals and the mathematics of it all. We are all part of this magical world and Björk's way of showing us we can't thank her enough for. Enjoy the full documentary below; it's one of the best hours you'll spend all year we dare say.

David Attenborough - How Many People Can Live on Planet Earth? - A Sunday Doc

Yeap, we're music lovers - but also acutely aware that human's are living beyond the means of our blue planet. This week's Sunday documentary is David Attenborough's look into this matter. He was born in 1926 - when there was just under 2 billion humans around - since this film aired the first time in 2009 we've hit 7 billion people. But we have only one planet - with the same amount of water for millions of years and obvs the same amount of space. Plus we need food for all of us - not to mention live with other species and respect ecosystems. Follow Sir David into this highly important and fascinating subject - how many people can live on planet earth?
