Video Premiere: Laleh - Some Die Young (International Version)

Sweden's multi-talented Laleh is serving some real Icelandic amazingness in the international video to her now Scandinavian modern classic Some Die Young. We've listened to it since the January '12 release so awesome to see it's getting a wider release! Life is precious and the importance of valuing it, send out love and kindness and enjoy your time here on Earth can never be remembered enough. This song has helped so many people in Norway with the grieving after the horrific bombing and mass shootings and just thinking about it brings tears to our eyes. We love Iceland so it's a real treat to see the gorgeous landscape and amazing views. Laleh is both the dark and light side of life embodied and it's done in a simple but most effective way. Enjoy below and call someone you love - we just did!

Polar Music Prize 2012 - Musical Performances

The equivalent to a Nobel Prize for a musician would have to be the Polar Music Prize. This years recipients are Paul Simon and Yo-Yo Ma, who both traveled to Sweden to accept. Both are exceptional at their craft and truly well deserved winners. Some of Sweden's finest contemporary artists paid tribute - and below are what we gathered from our beloved youtube! Really amazing to see the reaction from Paul Simon watching and taking in the moment. Must be such an emotional roller coaster hearing your babies like this sitting next to the Swedish royals and being so in the spotlight for your life accomplishments. Enjoy!

Laleh - Some Die Young - Live @ Nasjonal Minnekonsert 22.7.12

Yesterday marked one year since the terror attacks in Norway where Anders Behring Breivik killed 77 people in two carefully planned attacks in Oslo and Utøya. So much hate in one person is almost unfathomable and at the same time it's evident that it exists throughout the ages. The concert in Oslo yesterday was therefore highly important to show that love and solidarity overcomes hate. Laleh opened the night with her Some Die Young and it was beautiful and poignant to say the least. The extended intro of Tine Thing Helseth playing Mitt Lille Land was incredible and made us teary-eyed and watching the whole thing cry for sure. Watch both below. Article about the whole concert (in English) here. RIP ♡.

Laleh - Some Die Young - Live @ P3 Guld

We think it's time for Swedish singer/songwriter Laleh to have a raised profile outside of Sweden for sure. She premiered her new single Some Die Young at the award show P3 Guld last night - we're so moved by it. There is just something magical in her voice that strikes a chord. Her songwriting is just so amazing, it feels like you've heard it before, even the first time you here it. Check her out below! Her album Sjung is out the 25th!
