Premiere: Róisín Murphy - Exile + Hairless Toys Album Sampler

Miss Róisín Murphy drops her hotly anticipated album (first in 8 years) Hairless Toys in exactly one week on the 11th. The reviews are starting to come in and no surprise but they are stellar. Judging by the album sampler it's no wonder - it sounds unique and like a forest of sounds but held together by that distinct voice. Also, Unputdownable is our new favourite word - and the track just seems incredible. TUNE. Brand new track Exile was released today and makes us think of Twin Peaks. Like Ró's the singer at The Road House with secrets in her hair. Love it! Listen to aaaaall below; thoughts?

Stream: Björk - BBC Radio 1 Zane Lowe Feature Interview

We might as well rename the blog Björk Says Relax for the next few months, haha. It's gonna be packed with Vulnicura album treats we hope! The album leak and the subsequent rushed official release last week, two months earlier than planned, had fans screaming from both fear and joy. Tonight, just a few hours ago, B chatted with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe about the whole process and what's gonna happen in the near future. Tour! She's so cool! We must say the album has us floored. It's so amazingly good and the raw tone is palpable. It's so intimate it feels like listening to someone's soul. Reverence is the word to describe what we feel when listening. Interview below + album here!

Premiere: Stevie Nicks - The Dealer

The amazing Stevie Nicks drops her new album 24 Karat Gold - Songs From The Vault on October 6th and it'll contain brand new recordings of mythical songs from her 1969 to 1987 catalogue. Lead single The Dealer never made it past the demo stage for her 1981 solo debut album Bella Donna. Back then it went under the name "The Dealer (aka Mistress of My Fate)" and ended up scrapped entirely. Various demos has surfaced during the years since then and has become a true fan favourite. Listen to 'em here! This new version sounds a lil' country, ya'll, and not at all like the demo version using a drum machine for instance. It still sounds brooding but perhaps a bit more friendly and less urgent. We can however see this being a live favourite if she plays it during the Fleetwood Mac tour later this year. Listen below! Thoughts?

Premiere: Lykke Li - Never Gonna Love Again

Lykke Li released her hotly anticipated new album I Never Learn a week early on Spotify. We've been playing a lot and stand out immediately for us is the hypnotizing Never Gonna Love Again. Today we had it on repeat and sang the chorus and it's so catchy and so incredibly devastating at the same time. It's a lullaby with a jukebox heart that crushes you with the weight that only true sadness can bring. It's so superb and singalong friendly though that it's kinda nuts, it's made to sing aloud, and how can you without feeling sadness burn, but keep going anyway? Listen below and stream the whole album here! Thoughts?

Full Album Stream: Paloma Faith - A Perfect Contradiction

Paloma Faith's highly anticipated third album A Perfect Contradiction comes out March 10th and is now streaming in full. Wow, what an amazing collection of songs! Lead single Can't Rely On You opens up and sets the tone. Badass. Mouth to Mouth comes next and drops a classic disco beat all over the place. We love the incredible mix of Motown, disco and we definitely hear some Etta James and James Brown in there too. Only Love Can Hurt Like This is a stunning track lamenting love gone wrong, and the powerful shrieks truly delivers the message perfectly. It has to be said, references and all, Paloma's unique voice is front and center and she sounds so on fire and wonderfully badass and awesome. The production is super tight and we are so snatching this up on Monday to treasure dearly. Wow! Thoughts?!
