Premiere: Bat For Lashes - Joe's Dream

We continue to be mesmerized by fantastic Bat For Lashes and her upcoming concept album The Bride (out July 1st). Joe's Dream made us think of her 2009 single Pearl's Dream, this one however is more raw and organic. It's a gorgeous piece of dreamy mystery with stellar vocals and the overall tone is absolutely amazing. So gleaming and pulsating with a war of nerves front and center. The album tells the story of a bride whose partner dies on the way to the wedding. Dark matter for sure and who else but Natasha Khan could reach for a subject like this and find the utter beauty in madness and sadness? 

Premiere: Bat For Lashes - In God's House

OMG, literally - new Bat For Lashes! Last month we got the romance tinged I Do that had us thinking Natasha Khan had gone all wedding singer on us. And yes she might - her upcoming album is called The Bride. However, In God's House is a brooding single filled to the brim with darkness and urgent emotional outpouring. Leave it to BFL to create a wedding themed album filled with dark streaks and throbbing electro beats. Speakin' of those - how gorgeous does this sound?! It's a gleaming bed of synths with sublime production. Top marks! 

Premiere: Bat For Lashes - I Do

Wow, just last night we were dreamin' of new Bat For Lashes - and here it iiiisss! I Do is the lead single for upcoming album, possibly titled Save The Date, out perhaps (?) on July 1st - and it's damn romantic. Did she go and record a wedding album? Only Natasha Khan could make us wanna listen to a whole lovey dovey album, haha. The harp intro is really fine and the sparse atmosphere that builds and deepens is lovely. And as always that voice that is so amazing and emotive. Thoughts?  

Premiere: SEXWITCH - Helelyos (Zia Cover)

WOW, Natasha Khan a.k.a. Bat For Lashes and her co-producer Dan Carey along with TOY just dropped their first single Helelyos with joint project SEXWITCH! It's a cover of Zia's Iranian 70's funk track and it's so dark and evocative and multi-layered. So organic and brings to mind classic the golden era of bands that would jam on stage for hours and hours. Listen below! Thoughts?

Stream: Bat For Lashes - Plan The Escape (Son Lux Cover)

We've listened to the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 a lot during the past week. The Lorde curated collection of songs is truly a treasure chest of amazing talent, artistry and beats. One of the standouts (apart from this amazing Grace Jones original) is the Bat For Lashes cover of Son Lux's magical Plan The Escape. The added dreamy tone to the vocals really does things to us. The sharpness of the original gets slightly fuzzy at the sides and it's like looking through a stained glass. So many colours and shapes just burst at us. Love Natasha's voice and since this track is so short it makes our body ache for a new album real soon.
