Premiere: Lady GaGa - Dope

Ahh, this is Lady GaGa at her finest. Her new Artpop buzz track Dope tones down the distracting bells and whistles but keeps the drama intact in the best way possible. What's left is a great vocalist and pianist front and center singing passionately about being totally addicted to a special someone. After the Applause sugar rush we needed this sincerity. It's also great to hear that Speechless and Yoü and I now have a sibling to play with on the next tour! Listen below! Thoughts? Artpop is out on November 8th.

Free Download: Visage - Fade To Grey (Italo Brutalo Edit)

The Visage 1980 masterpiece Fade To Grey is truly a song for the ages. That keyboard riff will never grow old and moldy for sure. If it did it'd be penicillin, haha. How we wish we could have been around for the Blitz Kids movement where Visage's frontman Steve Strange was a central figure as the host at the influential Blitz club. The new romantics era was such an insanely creative period in music! Written by members of Ultravox and released in November 1980 it really became a benchmark and blueprint for what the 80's would sound like. This edit by Italian disc jockey Italo Brutalo plays like it's a long lost dub from the original vinyl. It's teases and extends and makes us crave mooore, right now! Instant gratification needed! We're so gonna have this, the original and the Kylie Minogue mash-up on repeat tonight! Enjoy!

Premiere: The xx - Reunion (Mistakes Are Ok Remix) + Fiction (Marc Piñol Remix)

We were listening to some The xx remixes just the other day, longing for some more to add to our list. Lo and behold what just came our way! Next month Hivern Discs has the awesome task of releasing 12", a specially curated limited edition vinyl consisting of four brand new takes on songs from 2012's dreamy Coexist. Barcelona based music project Mistakes Are Ok take on Reunion and add some loops and everyday sounds and a dirtier feel, like it just rolled out of bed and started the coffee machine. Nice! Fellow Barcelonian Marc Piñol takes the gorgeous Fiction out for drinks at the nearest minimalistic discotastic club. To pre-order the €10 vinyl click here! Enjoy below!

Premiere: Blood Orange & Samantha Urbani - You're Not Good Enough

Real life couple Dev Hynes a.k.a Blood Orange and Samantha Urbani just released a scorcher of a song! You're Not Good Enough ain't exactly a lovey dovey song, haha. In fact, quite the opposite! Over Dev's gorgeous guitar strut they're singing very gently about never being in love and the other part never being good enough. Wow! Talk about the heartbreak one would feel if ever hearing that. We hear traces of Dev's stunning production on Solange's Losing You and that, dear friends, can never ever be a bad thing. In the mix is also a Prince vibe that's driving us wild and makes us wanna rip our clothes off from excitement. So yeah, top marks because of perfection. It'll be added on our Best of '13 later this year for sure. Enjoy! The third Blood Orange album Cupid Deluxe is out on November 18th.

Premiere: Donna Summer - Sunset People (Hot Chip 15:51 Min Extended Remix)

The amazing Donna Summer remix album Love To Love You Donna is out now and look at the treat we have! Hot Chip's stunning take on Sunset People is featured twice on the album as edits and here's the full remix, clocking in at almost 16 minutes! It's a luxurious listen to say the least and the reference to Love To Love You Baby's original length of 16:50 is almost blinding us with bright disco lights. We love the new tempo and the added beeps and blips that makes it trademarked with the Hot Chipness of it all. The Pete Bellotte and Giorgio Moroder produced single was originally released in the summer of 1980 becoming a moderate hit. As it was taken from her iconic 1979 Bad Girls album it meant Casablanca Records owned it. Donna herself had moved on by then to Geffen and left disco music behind her (or so she thought) and was getting ready for a new album era with The Wanderer. She felt sexually exploited by her old label and had redicovered her Christian faith in the process. Hearing this superb remix it's mind blowing to think of all the politics behind it all back in the day. It however does not take away from being a stunning disco number then and a slice of electro heaven now. Enjoy below! Thoughts?
