Premiere: The xx - On Hold

Romy, Oliver and Jamie are back! The xx are a much needed always and On Hold is the first taster of upcoming album I See You (out January 13th). We really like the patented xx sound, and how it's paired with a slight hip hop club feel and how it samples Daryl Hall & John Oates' I Can't Go For That (No Can Do). And obviously amazing vocals from Oliver & Romy + how Jamie xx's production influence is so strong. Too nice!   

Premiere: Jamie xx Feat. Romy - Loud Places (John Talabot Remix)

Too nice, this is! Jamie xx and Romy Madley-Croft of The xx are both insanely talented and we just want moooore music. Them meeting Spanish DJ & electronic producer John Talabot and him remixing gorgeous Loud Places from Jamie's 2015 acclaimed solo debut album In Colour pure magic happens. The original is stunning as it is but we're crazy for the change in groove and the added beat. Damn it, so perfect. It both relaxes you and perks you up. Too. Damn. Good. Honestly. We don't know to dance or cry, laugh or relax. It's just everything. Enjoy!   

Premiere: Jessie Ware - Share It All

Jessie Ware double post! Oh yes! She's on a roll and we're keeping up for sure. New album Tough Love drops later this year and she just released new track Share It All online. Hell yes, we wanna share it all. Much like the stunning first single from this project this is a slow burning track that sounds rich and beautiful. This one however breathes a bit easier as it's happier and the start of something brand new. A romantic liaison with all the components. The moment when both want the same thing and neither know exactly where the other part stand. We love the understated production and we this new album kinda right now. Enjoy! Thoughts?  Update: Oooh, just found out Share It All is co-written by Romy Madley-Croft from The xx and produced by Bristol house act Julio Bashmore. NICE!

Premiere: Jamie xx - Sleep Sound

Jamie xx has a new 12" double A side vinyl coming out May 5th and Sleep Sound got its first play late last year on his mix for BBC 6. Here's the full version and its hypnotizing. Simplistic, layered with chopped vocals and a sweet house beat. What's not to like? We wonder if this will come out remixed later this year with a full on vocal treatment. It should! Second new song Girl comes out soon and we're so curious. Listen below! Thoughts?

Premiere: The xx - Reunion (Mistakes Are Ok Remix) + Fiction (Marc Piñol Remix)

We were listening to some The xx remixes just the other day, longing for some more to add to our list. Lo and behold what just came our way! Next month Hivern Discs has the awesome task of releasing 12", a specially curated limited edition vinyl consisting of four brand new takes on songs from 2012's dreamy Coexist. Barcelona based music project Mistakes Are Ok take on Reunion and add some loops and everyday sounds and a dirtier feel, like it just rolled out of bed and started the coffee machine. Nice!
