Premiere: Katy B - I Like You

Never has a song title and chorus been more accurate! Katy B, I Like You, a little bit more than I should, haha. Well at least we love her sick style and bangin' club anthems. Her new buzz track is produced by prolific house DJ George FitzGerald and we absolutely love the seamless blend of underground dirty beats and pop hook with that gorgeous soaring voice. Truly spectacular and we cannot waaaait for her album Little Red to drop sometime in 2014. Judging by the tracks and remixes we've heard so far it really should be titled Big Incredible and On Fire Red, but we'll take what we can get, haha. Top marks!       

Premiere: Lady GaGa - Venus

Lady GaGa just surprise premiered Venus, the third taster from her upcoming November 8th album release of Artpop. LG wrote this electro stomper with old pal DJ White Shadow and French wonder Madeon and produced it herself. We must say it's our favourite track from this era so far! It sounds refreshingly flirty and fun! Plus it's catchy as anything found on The Fame without looking back one bit. We'd loved this to have been the lead Artpop single, but so happy it at least premiered before the album dropped. Now we're excited! PS. How scary is that Steven Klein single artwork? All in the name of ART, darling!  

Premiere: MS MR - Fantasy (MØ / Vindahl Remix)

MS MR's debut Secondhand Rapture is easily one of our most played albums this year. It's so darn good and eclectic! Their MØ remix is incredible too + is Cyndi Lauper Time after Time realness! Now the Danes are repaying the favour in a big way. Karen Marie Ørsted and her producer Ronni Vindahl sprinkle their Copenhagen magic on Fantasy and the result is addictive with a sugary crunch. We even get added vocals by MØ herself. Niiiice! This new atmosphere is like an alternate universe filled with endless The Knife concerts, cotton candy and dirty back alleys with neon signs. Listen below and dare yourself if you can not hit repeat. 

Free Download: Black Box - Ride On Time (Guido Re-Edit)

Black Box's 1989 UK #1 italo disco masterpiece Ride On Time can liven up the dullest of affairs, haha. Something about that insane house piano loop just makes us wanna go nuts in the best way possible! Fronted by tone deaf model Katrin Quinol this single originally sampled Loleatta Holloway's Love Sensation without clearing the rights and she got pissed off and sued successfully for $$$. Thus leading to a re-recording with (uncredited) vocals from Heather Small of M People. The full Dreamland album eventually came in 1990 and featured vocals from Weather Girls Martha Wash, who ended up suing as well as she had been paid to do demo work, not actually appear on the finished album as she did. Wowza! So many people and shenanigans! This re-edit by French DJ Guido Minisky and uses what sounds like alternate vocal takes in parts by Heather Small. We have a hard time typing this as all we wanna do is get up and get d.o.w.n, haha. That extended piano never sounded so good! Enjoy dancin'! PS. All these legal snafus eventually led to a safer environment for musicians as nowadays samples has to be cleared and credited in a much more transparent manner.    

Sky Ferreira - You're Not the One (Live at The Newtown Sessions)

We loooove Sky Ferreira's You're Not the One and cannot wait until next Tuesday when her debut album Night Time, My Time drops. This live version has a harder sound than the final released version and we love this raw sound. Although they have a great audio engineer there is no denying how good she sounds and how tight her live band is! The craving seeing her live just hit us big time and we need to make that happen soon for sure! Enjoy! For the live video click here!
