Emel Mathlouthi - All Is Full of Love (Björk Cover)

Knowing that several of Tunisian singer Emel Mathlouthi's original songs are protest songs and anthems for the Tunisian and Egyptian revolutions this cover plays straight into our heart. Her sublime live version of Björk's eternal All Is Full of Love is filled to the brim with love, light and hope. The acoustics of the venue bounce off Emel's voice and we're getting celestial feelings listening - we know Björk would love too. Such a nice and relaxing moment, but also an important one. Knowing that there is love in absolute darkness and despair when your world is in uproar is important to rememeber. When the title is repeated over and over it feels like a chant and a spiritual lesson. Near the end Emel's voice soars high above and it's like her spirit breaks free from man-made chains. Love is truly like a wild flower, it can grow in the harshes conditions and even break through the pavement if it has to. Enjoy and grab the free download below.

Full Documentary: When Björk Met Attenborough: The Nature of Music

Can we just say we could not stop smiling watching When Björk Met Attenborough last night. The warmth and kindness exuding is extraordinary to say the least. Also, it's a joy to see people wanting to communicate to people what they have discovered and at the same time also so curious to find out more. The Biophilia project is still on a world tour, the album and apps released almost two years ago now with the Android versions just released so perfect timing immersing in this documentary! Honestly we could go on and on... Tilda Swinton as the narrator is perfection guiding us via Australian nature scenes to choir rehersals on Iceland. The connection we all have to the universe, the tinest microbes on earth and music is just mind blowing and really puts things into perspective. The power of music and the impact on dementia, similarities to crystals and the mathematics of it all. We are all part of this magical world and Björk's way of showing us we can't thank her enough for. Enjoy the full documentary below; it's one of the best hours you'll spend all year we dare say.

Björk - Mutual Core - Video Premiere + Making of

Björk and MOCA just premiered the video to the amazing Mutual Core and we couldn't be more happier with it! Set around a glorious mix of primordial creatures, volcano eruptions and hot blooded emotions it sits perfectly in the Björk universe. The idea of talking in tectonic plates and continents to explain a relationship is pure genius. The force of the eruptions forming a mutual core are indeed similar. The dividing and merging... Also, such a nice reference, as we see it, to All Is Full of Love. Can you spot it, and do you agree? Andrew Thomas Huang directed this, and is also behind the incredible Bastards cover. Watch both the video + making of below! Thoughts?

Jay Brannan - Hyperballad (Björk Cover)

Hands down, Björk's Hyperballad is one of our all time favourite songs, and it's become a classic track since it's release in 1995. So how awesome Jay Brannan has added it to his list of amazing covers! He sang it during his pre show warm up in a stairway in Hannover, Germany and recorded it as treat to us. We love the warmth in his voice and the atmosphere in the stairway, with the people rushing by and all. Very understated and lovely. Enjoy!

Björk - Biophilia Remix Series VIII - Full Stream

Björk lovers can look forward to two releases soon! Series 8 (and final) of the Biophilia Remix Series the 12th and the remix album Bastards (artwork pictured) that gathers a quarter of the series the 19th of November. We've been waiting patiently since JULY for the last chapter to drop! And we are soooo excited! UK duo The Slips tweak Moon into an absolute heavenly electronic sky. The added groove and pulse is incredible and we just wanna repeat it all night. London band These New Puritans sample David Fanshawe's famous Solomon Island Songs recordings on Mutual Core; he would persuade local musicians to play for him whilst using his small stereo tape recorder. We love the added depth the sampled voices brings - and it's such a lovely compliment to Björk's vocals. The new music makes us listen to the lyrics in a whole new way. They seem gentler somehow. Less urgency and more mellow reflection about trying to find a common ground. Both are such a treat to be able to add to our collection. Click here for all eight series to stream! Enjoy!
