Free Download: Björk - I've Seen It All (SIMØNE Remix)

Lars von Trier's 2000 film musical Dancer in the Dark is one of the most soul crushing things we have ever seen. Björk as Selma Ježková is a heart pounding watch and suffocated us almost when we saw it. Once was enough, still the memory of it lives on vividly. I've Seen It All features Thom Yorke on the album and Peter Stormare in the movie and tells the story of slowly losing vision literally. It was nominated for an Academy Award and from the 2001 broadcast comes our favourite version. So elegant, heartbreaking and flawless. Plus, swan dress 4-ever! Spanish producer SIMØNE also keeps it as a solo version and adds a hypnotic electronic beat. The raw style of the vocals creates a wonderful distortion to the sleek music and it really is striking. Selma's slow burner of a song about slowly going blind set to a dance beat - now we have almost heard it all. And it's awesome to top it off. The last 45 seconds kills us, and that train track noise will follow us all night... Stream below, download here

Stream: Björk - Aurora (Jahn G Remix)

Awaiting new glorious Björk material we need bootlegs to tide us over for sure. Her 2001 album Vespertine is one of our most played albums evah. Truly stunning body of work. Airy and light, dark and gleaming. Aurora from it radiates love and joy and shines as bright as the snow reflecting brilliant light. Melbourne based producer Jahn takes Aurora down a whole new path infusing the ethereal original with a serious club beat. It's a 180 turn, with them heading out for a drink and dance to get away from the mundane and spark the sun - spark the sun off me when dawn comes.

Free Download: Björk - I See Who You Are (Cobalt Rabbit Redux)

Björk's Volta album is the basis for really awesome bootleg remixes some 7 years after its release. Nice! Remember this one?! Too good! ...and here we are again. Florida based Michael Gold a.k.a Cobalt Rabbit has tweaked album track no. 5 I See Who You Are, which features Chinese pipa player Min Xiaofen, into a glorious trip hop state. We've always liked the lyrics and vocal delivery and the added loops and drums here really makes 'em shine. Since Björk is singing about celebrating the flesh and bones and enjoy it fully before turning into a corpse with the pipa playing - it's so intricate having this new synthetic background adding volume and drive. Futuristic and very cool - we love it! How superb would it be to have the next Guðmundsdóttir album set to a harder club beat - we'd totally be up for enjoying our body, flesh & bones and all, sweat to that one in a heartbeat. Grab the download below and enjoooy!

Tori Amos - Hyperballad (Björk Cover) [Live at the Greek Theatre]

Tori Amos performed at L.A's classic Greek Theatre last night to a roaring crowd (of course, no surprise there). Her live set for this particular show included a stunning version of Björk's legendary 1996 single Hyperballad. Such a perfect treat! She's done it before and this time it's no less stellar. Her voice truly soars here and we kinda feel the need to throw some cutlery down the balcony now, struggling as we are to find the words. It's emotive, superb and truly so very Tori without losing any connection to the wonderful original. When she effortlessly glides into her own 1994 wonder Cloud On My Tounge it's no less than badass. Like what the hell?! So damn fine! The last 20 seconds we cannot even! At last night's show she did covers of Kate Bush, Elton John and Depeche Mode on top of this. Shockingly awesome, haha! We need to see her live stat! Enjoy!

Björk Feat. Antony Hegarty - My Juvenile (Akeda Remix)

Björk's 2007 Volta album closes with the minimalistic yet intricate Antony Hegarty duet My Juvenile. In the hands of Parisian musician and producer Akeda it becomes a warm and inviting breeze of love and we're blown away. It's a complete 180 from the sharpness of the original and so complements their voices. The lyrics speak of letting go and let your biggest love free to be, with Antony acting as the concience. Whether it's letting go of your younger self, a lover or child the sentiment speaks true in each case. Sending warmth. The new music flows and swirls around the vocals like white mist and gently rests upon the warmth and love that is exuding. Absolutely amazing. You can grab the free .mp3 by liking Akeda's page here. Enjoy!
