Video Premiere: Goldfrapp - Annabel

Goldfrapp continues to tell Tales of Us. After the absolutely mesmerising Drew the turn has come to Annabel. The story of, as Alison puts it, 'a girl trapped inside the body of a boy' is so cinematic and well told in a most simplistic way. Love the heavenly vocals and a softly strumming guitar - that's all you need really! Based on a novel with the same name telling the story of an intersexed child who is forced to take on a male identity. The search within our inner core for personal truths and how the outcome manifests is something we could spend years discussing over coffee. So many are afraid to look within and find the essence of themselves we have noticed. Hiding behind social constructs is perhaps easier than exploring your own personal identity, but finding it and embracing will set you free forever. That's what the dress in this case represents to us. Allowing someone to see you for who you are instead of hiding in darkness. For a brand new amazing Goldfrapp interview with Nowness click here. Enjoy! Thoughts?

Pet Shop Boys - Love is a Bourgeois Construct (Little Boots Discothèque Edit)

Wow, this is perfect! The Pet Shop Boys rushing stomper Love is a Bourgeois Construct gets infused with some serious Little Boots nocturnal darkness. Her knack for creating some seriously memorable and distinct bassline hooks remains. We really like the way the added somberness makes Neil Tennant's voice shine in the dim light that is a LB party. You gotta love anyone who can create an atmosphere for PSB that rivals their own production skillz! This track drops as the next single from Electric on September 1st, and expect a million remixes. Honestly, with these intellectually stimulating lyrcis we'd want this playing in every club and get people's groove on at the same time as the brain gets something to work with. Enjoy!

Premiere: Hot Natured Feat. Róisín Murphy - Alternate State

Ooo, git it, git it! We're still waiting after 6 years for a full new Róisín Murphy album! Thankfully for our general health and sanity she's very generous lending her talent to badass collaborations. This time we're getting the flawless Alternate State by brand new club collective Hot Natured. Over a hypnotizing and deceptively minimalistic production is that distinctive and effortless Róisín magic and her coolness is just beyond. A truly gorgeous start to the debut album Different Sides of the Sun from Hot Natured that drops on September 2nd. Enjoy!

Donna Summer - Love Is in Control (Finger on the Trigger) [Chromeo & Oliver Remix]

We cannot even with the sadness that Donna Summer isn't here to crank audio systems up and experience the awakened interest in disco and old school house. She'd been perfect on the new Daft Punk album, that's for sure! On October 22nd we're getting a brand new remix album, Love To Love You Donna, filled to the brim with new mixes by people like Hot Chip and legendary Summer producer Giorgio Moroder. The lead off is this funk-tastic club banger by Chromeo & Oliver of 1982's Love Is in Control (Finger on the Trigger) originally produced by Quincy Jones. The original funk and robo voice suits Chromeo perfectly and we love the amped up feeling they are bringing. We can see this burn up many dance floor at hipster parties as well as any badass 60+ party! Get d.o.w.n with D.o.n.n.a!

Lady GaGa VS. Madonna - Applause Gone Wild

Part of the internet pointed fingers a few weeks ago that Lady GaGa's Applause has a synth hook that reminds of MDNA's Girl Gone Wild. The resemblance wasn't something that screamed in our ears as they're pretty standard EDM but when hearing the two mashed they do go awfully well toghether. That's not a bad thing, but we think both tracks are a bit reductive in terms of pushing dance music forward. Both artists know how to create way more memorable songs than those two singles for sure. The videos look good together as well so these ladiez definitely share some taste! Have a look below! Thoughts?
