Premiere: Janelle Monáe Feat. Miguel - PrimeTime

Ooo, how smooth is this?! Janelle Monáe and Miguel team up for PrimeTime, a super slinky slow jam that just hits us in all the right spots. Yes there too! And there! This collaboration is so perfect, their voices are so awesome it's no wonder what a joy it is to hear them together. Love the layered voices and richness of the music - even the electric guitar solo... It evokes some classic 80's power Prince and how can we say no to that? Janelle's hotly anticipated album The Electric Lady is out September 10th and we officially cannot wait!

Video Premiere: Lady GaGa - Applause

Lady GaGa's Applause train is perhaps not gaining as much speed as anticipated by her monsters. After peaking at #2 on iTunes US it's currently langushing at #8. Charts are not something to stare blindly at so let's focus on the video! Directed by Inez & Vinoodh it kinda reminds us of GaGa's very own Alejandro video. Intercepting are some classic clown acts and a very insteresting looking bird. Ya'll have to take a look below. Let's see if this baby can do wonders for the single's chart position! Are you clapping your hands raw? Update: And 8 hours later Applause is up to #4 on iTunes. Makes sense as LG is such a visual artist!

Video Premiere: Mutya Keisha Siobhan - Flatline

Finally! After what has felt like a monumental wait the video to Mutya Keisha and Siobhan's stellar Dev Hynes produced single Flatline is here! The song is most definitely on our Best of 2013 list and we've been so curious for some visuals to go along. The video is a stunning retro piece that looks like a vintage moving postcard sent from a vacation in Los Angeles sometime in the 60's. We love the juxtaposition of the sad lyrics with the joyous and colourful sceneries. Top marks! PS. The fashionz these girlz are bringing we cannot even. Love!

Premiere: Toni Braxton & Babyface - Hurt You

Toni Braxton and Babyface's collaboration is the stuff of 90's R&B folklore. They were huge and now they are back together! Hurt You serves as the first taster from their joint album Love, Marriage, Divorce. Yep, this isn't the most upbeat theme album ever, but certainly promises heavy on emotions and then some. Our strongest memory of Toni is buying her debut album in Barcelona and playing her spanish version of Breathe Again and being very young, haha. Por supuesto! The Babyface memory is his collaboration with Madonna on her massive #1 Take a Bow the year after. So yeah, how exciting to hear this! Hurt You is a ballad driven by emotions, a gorgeous piano, a strong hook and of course those stellar voices. Toni's been plauged by major ill health, diagnosed with lupus and heart problems, and also financial ruin so was said to want to quit music. Her rich voice definitely has a place in the world of music so how amazing she's keeping on keeping on. Listen below! Thoughts?

Premiere: Lisa Stansfield - Can't Dance

This summer we wondered if we'd ever hear new material from Lisa Stansfield again. Last time 'round was 2004! Luckily we now know she'll release a brand new album, Seven, on October 7th. Lead single, and comeback jump start is the disco funk infused Can't Dance, written by Lisa and her husband + constant professional partner Ian Devaney. How perfect also that Daft Punk has brought back the organic groove in people's minds just in time for us to check our conscience at the door and crucify the dance floor. The horn section is just badass and this jam will sound awesome live. Welcome back Lisa!
