Vanity 6 - Nasty Girl (Ronando's Wanna Cum With Me Edit)

Oh gawd, it's hump day and we're in serious Prince funk mode. The classic Vanity 6 1982 sex ode Nasty Girl is on heavy repeat and even though Prince wrote and produced under his The Starr Company alias there is no way denying it's a legendary P-funk jam. Amsterdam based DJ Ronando 5's Wanna Cum With Me Edit is too good and plays like a freaky and fun 12" that just aches to be played loud to a big crowd and get 'em doing dirty moves and shake their money makers 'til dawn. 30 years on and Denise Matthews who sings the lead as Vanity is a born again Christian and Preacher who's told her congregation if they hear it to keep praying for the Holy Spirit. Since the beat is so infectious we doubt they'll have time but here's trying! Also, this legendary performance on Soul Train is bound to get your groove to kick in!

Free Download: Everything but the Girl - Driving (Inchange Remix)

We still hold our hopes that one day there will be a new EBTG album. However next year it'll be 15 (!) years since the last and so far final one, the club masterpiece Temperamental. The odds are at least in our favour as Ben and Tracey are married and have collaborated musically as late as last year. Their 1990 song Driving has always been a personal favourite of ours and it still sounds outstanding. The original production and later Todd Terry remix are very much children of the 90's with those slightly plastic sounds... This bootleg from Russian producer Michael Soldatkin a.k.a Inchange lends a modern twist and a very compelling downtempo sound that is perfect and we love. The melancholic yet optimistic nature of the song really shines here and we cannot stop listening. The sentiment rings true to us hearing it while typing these words. Sometimes the person you love the most can't be with you even if you have a strong bond, but if you're lucky they have an open heart and are just a phone call and drive away.

Video Premiere: Little Boots - Satellite

The Little Boots epicness continues! After her excellent Pet Shop Boys remix  she drops her self directed video (w Sam Brown) to Nocturnes album closer Satellite! Filmed at the Tower Ballroom in her hometown of Blackpool it stars Annelise Gray, a badass dancer to say the least. The editing is spot on with the superb slow motion sequences paired with the kicking beat and those shining synths. Actually it reminds us a lil' bit of the wonderful mini-Robyn and mini-Snoop from earlier this summer. Enjoy below!

Premiere: Active Child Feat. Mikky Ekko - Subtle

Um, holy crap! We'd say this is anything but Subtle! Listen to the fantastic new collaboration between UK electronic master producer Pat Grossi a.k.a Active Child and silky voiced Louisiana singer/songwriter Mikky Ekko. We love it and needed something smooth with sharp edges tonight for sure. The warm tone of Mikky's voice blends perfectly with the busy and laser like music. Those bursts of wonderful 80's synths and the spit fire na-na-na-na-na vox are just too good! L.o.v.e!

Mutya Keisha Siobhan - Flatline - Live @ Alan Carr: Chatty Man

Mutya Keisha Siobhan's amazing Flatline is out today after 8 weeks of teasing and streaming. We did our bit and bought it this AM and holy crap it sounds even better in proper HQ! Just now they TV premiered it on Channel 4's Allan Carr: Chatty Man. MAN can Keisha sing that bridge! Git it! Love Mutya's husky vocals and cool attitude and Siobhan's clear tone is just ear candy. Worrying if you're into chart positions that they're releasing the single on a Friday as it's gonna impact Sunday's results. Currently it's at #15 on iTunes UK, and that's with the pre-orders. Yikes! It's such a brilliant single it deserves a #1 even if a top spot does not determine how good it is obviously. Enjoy below!
