Free Download: Madonna - Fever (Zero Experience Remix)

Hehe, it's truly Rain-ing terrific house bootlegs of classic Erotica era Madonna tracks! We're happy to discover as they truly sound like the real early 90's house deal. This time 'round it's M's take on the classic 1956 now standard Fever. She used the added lyrics as written by Peggy Lee, but completely changed the music to a house beat. The album version and the one released as the video version were also totally different from each other and both sound equally as good! We know the Erotica version was made by Shep Pettibone as an instrumental and M just started singing the Fever lyrics on top, winging it as they went along, and that they recorded it all using reel to reel. We love this classic piano driven house remix as it sounds like it could have come straight from the 'special DJ limited edition' red vinyl shown above. Back in the spring of '93 Fever helped bring the groove back to M's chart run after the whole Sex backlash. The drive in this bootleg makes us wanna dance for sure and long for a new Madonna album filled to the brim with insane beats that makes dance floors around the world boil. Listen below! Thoughts?

Full Album Stream: Janelle Monáe - The Electric Lady

The booty don't lie! We're blown away by Janelle Monáe's The Electric Lady album from the very first listen. It's brilliant and definitely a contender for album of the year. Her gleaming collaborations with Erykah Badu and Miguel sound even better here and the extended version of the latter we adore. Janelle infuses her second album with soul, R&B, Motown, Jimi Hendrix vibes, disco and classic 70's film scores. It's sounds cohesive despite all the references and the over all production is outstanding. Big Boi and Sean Combs act both as executive producers and they're holding this album together beautifully. We love the radio interludes and the humour they bring to the project. Prince and his guitar solo kick start the album on Givin' Em What They Love and Solange lifts the title track to gloruous heights with her amazing voice and that horn section makes us wanna d.a.n.c.e! Album closer What An Experience is just so tender and makes us want to hit repeat instantly. Top marks! The whole album is booty drop amazing and when it's out on September 10th we're picking it up first thing. Listen to the full stream below! Thoughts?

Video: Agnes Obel - The Curse

Beautiful and haunting is this stunning new single from Danish singer/songwriter Agnes Obel. Watching The Curse video the world stopped for the duration of it. If you're fans like us of Rhye, Kate Bush and Björk you're gonna sop it up for sure! We're mesmerized by her voice - the sadness and strength it displays is beyond. The minimalistic production of the music with the truly gorgeous piano and string section is sublime and we're gonna have to create some new verbs to explain what we think, haha. The video is created by photographer Alex Brüel Flagstad, Agnes's live-in lover and that we think explains the rawness and frankness of the clips. Hair messed up from the wind and an endless road... The classic line a blessing in disguise has really struck a chord with us. If things happen for a reason it's no coincidence we got to experience this song this week. Truly moving! The Obel sophomore album Aventine is out on September 30th.

Premiere: Celine Dion - Loved Me Back To Life

Celine Dion returns on November 5th with her first English album in 6 years! The Sia penned title track Loved Me Back To Life serves as the first single and we think kudos are in due order. Celine has sold over 200 million (!) albums since starting out at age 12 in 1980, plus she's had a major 10 year run in Las Vegas with her sold out show. What we're aiming at is that she could easily live off her greatest hits and relax a bit. The fact that she's a bit adventurous with her sound and dropping the single on Soundcloud says to us that there's still passion to evolve behind those press stills. Loved... is a sweeping power ballad with stuttering backing vocals and an electric guitar solo + those truly gorgeously life-affirming Sia lyrics. It sounds classic but at the same time new. And it's safe to say Sia has officially become the new Diane Warren! Listen below! Thoughts?

Introducing: Tokyo Denmark Sweden - Turning Time

We've spent a fair amount of time living and working in Australia, Denmark and Sweden, plus we love indie disco and Japan - so this track comes to us pretty effortlessly, haha. Say hello to Sydney based trio Tokyo Denmark Sweden and their delicious slice of pop tartness Turning Time. The deep bassline and melodic synth are just simply gorgeous, not to mention how good Amy Pes's vocals are. If you think this sounds suspiciously tasty too it's also to do with the fact that this jam is produced by Mark Saunders - he's been involved in the production of truly landmark albums such as Neneh Cherry's Raw Like Sushi (!!!!), The Cure's Wish (!!!!) and Tricky's Maxinquaye (!!!!). Holy crap, TDS have had a serious look through our music collection we can tell. Listen below! Thoughts?
