Stream: BBC RADIO 6 - Róisín Murphy live in session for Nemone

Róisín Murphy is on a roll and her stellar Hairless Toys album (us opening our signed copy) is receiving universal acclaim + she's on tour! For BBC Radio 6 Ró treats us to orchestral arrangements signed Eddie Stevens of Unputdownable and Exploitation + chats with Nemone about this era and life on the road. Too nice! These versions would sound amazing in a church setting we thinks at a midnight show. Very experimental but also a huge and great nod to classical music with Ró's warm voice bringing everything together. Listen below! Also, don't miss this extended evening from last month filled with awesome music and Murphy memories. Love it!

Stream: Jessie Ware - That's All I Want From You (Nina Simone Cover)

Love that awesome Jessie Ware has done a live cover of legendary Nina Simone for BBC Radio 2! Both are a singer's singer so it's literally perfection. That's All I Want From You - taken from the 1978 album Baltimore is a heartfelt ballad with lush strings and a piano only a Simone album could have since she was so brilliant at playing it. The lyrics are hopeful with a streak of sorrow and sound so good when both sing it. Since Nina was 20 years into her game in '78 and was 45 y.o her voice has a depth that only living life can bring. The Ware version sounds like a brilliant b-side from a 70's vinyl single and her voice is so powerful and sounds so sincere. Top marks!

Björk - Stonemilker - Live at Carnegie Hall (March 7th 2015)

Björk, to us, has reached a whole new platform in her artistry with the deeply personal Vulnicura album. To share recent and utter heartbreak this openly and not beat around the bush but instead tell it like it is and feels deserves major respect. Yesterday at noon she live premiered the whole album (bar Atom Dance) at Carnegie Hall. This legendary NYC venue has hosted some of the biggest names in the arts and feels perfect for this. Big yet intimate somehow. We adore album opener and now concert opener Stonemilker as it is - but to see it live seems unreal just by this fan footage (brilliant btw) alone. We looove the simplistic stage and how the string section are right behind her and how Maiko Takeda's headpiece is back and acts like body armor for this battle with emotions on a world stage. Not forgetting to mention the patented Björk dance - wonderful! ENJOY! Pic via NY Times

Premiere: Beth Ditto & The Shoes - Supernature (Cerrone Cover)

Arkansas badass Beth Ditto and French electronic duo The Shoes have teamed up for Supernature - a killer new take on Cerrone's 1977 dance classic! They live premiered it at the Canal+ 30th anniversary special this week and the studio version drops later this month. We love the dramatic strings and heavy drums paired with those patented Ditto vocals. The production is tight and flawless and that growl near the end is just superb! And how lovely is it that BD needs to walk backwards as she's naked in the back?! Enjoy via the link below, we'll post an embed as soon as one becomes available! Update: Listen to the track below!

Stream: Alison Moyet - Situation 2014 (Live @ the minutes tour)

Alison Moyet had a whirlwind moment with her the minutes album that received rave reviews, hit #5 in the UK, had her working with Guy Sigsworth and head out on a big tour that is still ongoing. For the tour she updated her more than iconic 1982 Yazoo synth phenomena Situation. The original is beyind phenomenal and so instantly recognizable it's crazy. With this new live version the production is sharper, shinier and smacks you right in the face. Imagine being in the crowd when this, the last number of the shows, comes on. Alison's vocals are as always on point and it truly sounds like she's gonna jump from the speakers and don't mess around indeed. The new dance break sounds like an homage to Depeche Mode, very fitting since this was her old Yazoo buddy Vince Clarke's band before teaming up for a serious situation! When they were on tour in '08 the live mix then sounded more like the original so it's cool to get this fiery update. The live album which features this new mix, minutes and seconds – live, is out November 10th! Enjoy!
