Premiere: Beth Ditto & The Shoes - Supernature (Cerrone Cover)

Yeeees! Beth Ditto and The Shoes live premiered their badass cover of Cerrone's 1977 monster hit Supernature earlier this month and here's the studio version! It's a joy to listen to and like we said just over two weeks ago - we love the dramatic (and iconic) strings and heavy drums paired with those patented Ditto vocals. Imagine a whole Beth Shoes album - it would be so fantastic! Listen, listen and enjooooy!

Arkansas badass Beth Ditto and French electronic duo The Shoes have teamed up for Supernature - a killer new take on Cerrone's 1977 dance classic! They live premiered it at the Canal+ 30th anniversary special this week and the studio version drops later this month. We love the dramatic strings and heavy drums paired with those patented Ditto vocals. The production is tight and flawless and that growl near the end is just superb! Premiere: London Grammar - Hey Now (The Shoes Remix)

London Grammar's beautiful slow burner Hey Now sees its energy amped up by awesome Parisian duo The Shoes for the upcoming Dior J'adore campaign starring Charlize Theron. This new mix is a bit rough yet elegant at once and really complements the rich depth of Hannah Reid's voice. We really like how the music flows and the slight restraint in the vocals creating a wonderful atmosphere. Warm and inviting but with a stroke of sadness. Top notch! 

Premiere: Lykke Li - Gunshot Remixes

The pain in Lykke Li's Gunshot is exquisite somehow. The harmonies elevates the absolute darkness into a starry night sky filled with fireflies. The light in times of despair and the rawness of it all is what we're aiming for here. These new remixes gets to the point. Paul Thomas Saunders adds a really smooth bassline and tops with a piercing synth and a drum evoking the sound of gunshots. It's anguish in a very stylish form. Duos San Zhi and The Shoes collaborates and wow this is so damn cool. The club beat and slick way it all comes together kinda lift the whole pain into the stratosphere and makes us really feel Lykke's turmoil and desolate state when the buildup explodes. Too good! Thoughts?
