Stream: Alison Moyet - Situation 2014 (Live @ the minutes tour)

Alison Moyet had a whirlwind moment with her the minutes album that received rave reviews, hit #5 in the UK, had her working with Guy Sigsworth and head out on a big tour that is still ongoing. For the tour she updated her more than iconic 1982 Yazoo synth phenomena Situation. The original is beyind phenomenal and so instantly recognizable it's crazy. With this new live version the production is sharper, shinier and smacks you right in the face. Imagine being in the crowd when this, the last number of the shows, comes on. Alison's vocals are as always on point and it truly sounds like she's gonna jump from the speakers and don't mess around indeed. The new dance break sounds like an homage to Depeche Mode, very fitting since this was her old Yazoo buddy Vince Clarke's band before teaming up for a serious situation! When they were on tour in '08 the live mix then sounded more like the original so it's cool to get this fiery update. The live album which features this new mix, minutes and seconds – live, is out November 10th! Enjoy!      

Röyksopp - Ice Machine (Depeche Mode Cover) [Ewan Pearson Darkroom Scene Remix]

So many talented people in this post there's no room in the title! Late last year Röyksopp and Susanne Sundfør debuted their collaboration Running To The Sea and also a Depeche Mode cover - Ice Machine. Now the latter is seeing a wider release on the Röyksopp DJ compilation Late Night Tales + in remixed form. Frequent DM collaborator Ewan Pearson does his spin on it and takes the minimalistic electronic original into a more big room, ahem, darkroom feeling. We can imagine the moving bodies in a dimly lit club already with everything going completely dark and people feeling each other up! Listen to the remix + Röyksopp edit below! Enjoy! Deee-Lite VS. Yazoo - Groove Is In The Situation

What's deee-groovy? Well this mash-up of Yazoo's iconic Situation and the equally gorgeous club classic Groove Is In The Heart by Deee-Lite does a good job. Crazy 'bout Lady Miss Kier and Alison Moyet's vocals as always and Vince Clarke's 1982 production is truly timeless. How exciting to start the weekend with this! Röyksopp Feat. Susanne Sundfør - Ice Machine (Depeche Mode Cover)

We're crazy in love with Röyksopp and Susanne Sundfør's brand new track Running To The Sea that they premiered last week. So good!! During their Lydverket showcase they did something incredible apart from releasing a new track - they did a flawless Depeche Mode cover! Dying. SO good! Ice Machine is entirely written by legendary Vince Clarke and can be found on the 1988 re-release of their 1981 debut album Speak & Spell. We cannot even begin to discuss how good this is! Susanne's voice is so incredible and the updated arrangement that follows the original is badass. So tight! And as always we're suckers for when Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland do some vocals themselves. Listen, listen! Cannot wait for more material from this trio!
