David Bowie - The Stars (Are Out Tonight) - Video Premiere

David Bowie's The Next Day album drops on March 12th and we cannot wait! Watching the video to The Stars (Are Out Tonight) makes us so happy! Directed by amazing Floria Sigismondi and starring along Bowie is Tilda Swinton and Andrej Pejic. Drawing inspiration from the classic 70's Bowie era and pairing that with a suburban 50's couple stereotypes. Amazing! The track is a glorious drum heavy stomper and we're having it on repeat. This one too produced by long time collaborator Tony Visconti. It all makes us so very happy and excited. Have a look belooow!

David Bowie - Where Are We Now? - Video Premiere

Wow, David Bowie turns 66 today and surprises us all with Where Are We Now? and on March 12th we'll get a new album - The Next Day which is the first material since 2003's Reality outing. As one of our biggest musical heroes we had no idea what to expect musically. He's teamed up with long time collaborator Tony Visconti and headed back to their days in Berlin in the 70's. Where Are We Now? is a wistful and reflective track with him feeling lost in time and out walking the dead. And yes, things have certainly changed. The Tony Oursler directed video with his iconic distorted faces makes perfect sense here and is more of an art installation than music video. Check it out below and you can buy the single and pre-order the album here. Thoughts?

David Bowie - Cracked Actor - A Sunday Documentary

We love David Bowie and music and personas have provided us with a flawless soundtrack for life and love throughout the years. We're hypnotized by this infamous 1974 documentary following David in Los Angeles during his Diamond Dogs tour. This was the year after the retirement of Ziggy Stardust and right after Alladin Sane and Pin Ups - right before his major American success with Young Americans. Wow! What an insane and productive period! The doc that remains to this day officially unreleased is famous for showing how frail his mental state was at the time as he was a heavy cocaine addict - which is evident we'd say in his apperance for sure. Alan Yentob who made this film is forever always remembered for his Bowie portrait - to this very day. It's an amazing time capsule - showing a legacy that influences artists heavily and will continue for decades if not centuries to come.

I was so blocked ... so stoned ... It's quite a casualty case, isn't it. I'm amazed I came out of that period, honest. When I see that now I cannot believe I survived it. I was so close to really throwing myself away physically, completely.  - David Bowie 1987
