Premiere: Annie - Invisible

Annie and Richard X are not messing around with their A&R EP! In fact it's starting to sound like a wig snatching soundtrack! After releasing some sweet tasters earlier this month they drop Invisible. Over a harder more industrial beat we're getting whispered lyrics and a down pitched Annie, (a.k.a Mannie) kinda in the vein of The Knife. Sweetness! Also, the old school hand claps, shimmering synths and sick drum machine makes us wanna rip our clothes off and d.a.n.c.e harder, better, faster, stronger! The full EP drops on Monday, the 29th!

Video Premiere: Kelly Rowland - Dirty Laundry (Dirty Version)

We've been waiting a decade for Kelly Rowland to drop a solo song that feels personal and in lack of a better word - minimalistic. She's been hiding deep within guest rappers, dance beats, sexiness and a whole lotta shiny exterior. Now we have at least a piece of the puzzle. Behind it all is a dark past filled with anger, bitterness and an abusive partner. When we heard Dirty Laundry the first time it was definitely a moment. Over a sparse beat the whole story unravels and the video follows suit with broken images and scenes that tells part of the story but doesn't give us everything. We wouldn't wish that kind of existence on anyone and we're so happy Kelly is around to tell her story. Hopefully it can help others break free and find the light again. We all have laundry that needs to be attended to.

Free Download: M.I.A. - Bring The Noize (Wuki Bootleg)

M.I.A.'s anti-capitalist anthem Bring The Noize gets treated to the highest honour for the message it's bringing. That would be a free download of an awesome trap bootleg of course! Denver based Kris Barman a.k.a Wuki tweaks the beat and adds layers that are too good for it to be a bootleg! This should be standing side by side with the main version for sure judging by the chorus alone! We can't think of a better soundtrack for a Sunday and we're gonna play it l.o.u.d! Dem-dem-dem-free-freekdem!

Premiere: Beyoncé - Grown Woman (Monsieur Adi Remix)

Beyoncé's Grown Woman decided she needs to spend the cash from that soda commercial on a night on the town. Gone's the African inspiration and organic original beat courtesy of Timbaland - and the Congolese singers got a kende malamu postcard sent to them. Breakout remix connoisseur Monsieur Adi (whom we blogged about yesterday) sets the club on fire with a hard beat and deep bass perfect for a strut off with some serious swag for ya nerve. We really like the original's atmosphere - but like Beyoncé herself this track obviously has a huge wardrobe of different styles and this one says EAT IT! Also; love that Monsieur has gone from bootleg Madonna remixes to official Beyoncé ones in two years flat!

Shep Pettibone - 1983 Mastermix Dance Party, New York 98.7 WRKS Kiss.FM

Shep Pettibone was in the summer of 1983 a year into creating mastermixes for now defunct and legendary NYC dance radio station Kiss.FM 98.7. His pioneering work creating remixes and mastermixes from reel to reel cut n' paste became so popular they were released as vinyl compilations + saw some overtake the originals in popularity. He started producing for iconic Salsoul Records and his idea of submitting several remixes for one song, thus fitting more radio formats, became the norm in the industry. He was an early collaborator with Pet Shop Boys and did wonders for Janet Jackson's singles from the Control and Rhythm Nation 1814 albums. Of course, he's most famous work is with Madonna; the ingenious production on 1990's Vogue and 1992 album Erotica - legendary. Sooo, we found this mix and wanted to post it as it's awesome, but also as the others are available on vinyl they have a tracklist and cover art. This baby clocks in at almost 100 minutes and we know some of the sickenin' beats. There's Herbie Hancock's Rockit, Nunk (New wave funk) by Warp 9 First Choice's Let No Man Put Asunder and Crown Heights Affair's Rock The World to name but a few. We can only imagine clubbing in the 80's, it would have been so cool to be part of that. But how fantastic since this is a summer '83 mix to be able to post it in July '13! Shep's website looks like it's straight outta 1996 and we saw he owns the Paradise nightclub in New Jersey so we should all hang out there next summer together! Grab the mix below and d.a.n.c.e! PS. There aren't many images of this legendary producer so above is him and M recording Erotica!
