Free Download: BANKS - Are You That Somebody? (Aaliyah Cover) [Lincoln Flip]

BANKS goddess goodness keeps on comin' and we ain't complaining! This time it's a bootleg mix of her stunning BBC live cover of Aaliyah's Timbaland produced 1998 masterpiece Are You That Somebody?. San Diego based producer Lincoln takes the acoustic cover and builds on it with a super hot and hard synth and added drums. It's really awesome and adds a whole new dark dimension to her vocals. No sampled baby laughter like in the original of course, but still comes closer to it while bringing something fresh to the mix. It's hot, tight and showcases Jillian Banks' crazy good voice and serves as a reminder how cool the original really is. Love it!

Lorde is at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the 8th week in a row with her magical Royals. Incredible! We thought we should celebrate in style with a huge mix. Just over a month ago we posted the awesome M.I.A. mashup that even saw a retweet from Maya herself on Twitter. Nice! This time we have the instrumental to Justin Timberlake's massive 06/07 #1 What Goes Around... Comes Around and we love it. The characteristic Timbaland beat paired with Lorde's laidback (slightly slowed down) delivery is pure dynamite. So damn good! Can you even imagine what a true collaboration would sound like?! Sometimes you just need to dance your ass off to an old classic, but at the same time it's wonderful to hear something new. Problem solved this weekend for sure! The Aaliyah and Timbaland 2000 masterpiece Try Again will always sound like a time vortex into the future and this remix by San Francisco based DJ Chris Clouse is the spaceship awaiting on the other side, haha. The added electro dance beat is addicitive and impossible to not dance to, in fact, we had to dance typing this! Enjoy! 

Premiere: Beyoncé - Grown Woman (Monsieur Adi Remix)

Beyoncé's Grown Woman decided she needs to spend the cash from that soda commercial on a night on the town. Gone's the African inspiration and organic original beat courtesy of Timbaland - and the Congolese singers got a kende malamu postcard sent to them. Breakout remix connoisseur Monsieur Adi (whom we blogged about yesterday) sets the club on fire with a hard beat and deep bass perfect for a strut off with some serious swag for ya nerve. We really like the original's atmosphere - but like Beyoncé herself this track obviously has a huge wardrobe of different styles and this one says EAT IT! Also; love that Monsieur has gone from bootleg Madonna remixes to official Beyoncé ones in two years flat!

Beyoncé's Grown Woman has seen blowing up online in shaky fan videos from her shows and extended from that awful soft drink commercial. There's no denying this is a sick track. Love that distinct Timbaland beat with its African inspiration and the organic feel of it all. Those drums and what we think is Congolese singers in the breakdown. Real awesome! We dare you to try and sit still listening to the full track, haha. We couldn't even type this entry without do a spot of dancin'!
