Video Premiere: Goldfrapp - Drew

The new Goldfrapp video Drew hits us in all the right spots. It's music and visuals for all senses. Going back to their Felt Mountain and Seventh Tree roots it still feels fresh and new. From the new we're getting French chanson and torch songs with that special magic that only can come from Alison's voice. The video is simply amazing. Faded like an old album full of forgotten memories that were once treasured. Alison as the lady of a manor, walking around in a world that seems out of place and deserted. Flashes of other people; is it dream or reality? It's a stunnning body of work and a much welcome return. Upcoming album Tales of Us is out on September 9th and their new tour kicks off this week already; on the 17th at the Manchester International Festival. We saw their last tour in 2010 and will make sure to catch this one too. Have a look below! Thoughts? PS. Video Premiere: Oh Land - My Boxer

Talk about keeping it in the family and saving some moolah! Oh Land was in her native Denmark last month and got her dad and dog to help her with the video to new single My Boxer. The video sees Nanna biking around barefoot in what must be a familiar place for her in Copenhagen. The song is a minimalistic and slightly hypnotic one sitting comfortably between rap and spoken word. Does baby like weird? Her album Wish Bone will be out later this year via boutique label Federal Prism run by producer Dave Sitek. Listen below! Thoughts?

Ella Fitzgerald – Blue Skies (Maya Jane Coles Remix)

The weekend is off to a flying start! The Verve Remix Series album The First Ladies is out next week and on it this gem can be found! Ella Fitzgerald's 1958 take on the 1926 Irving Berlin classic Blue Skies becomes a 2013 deep house anthem by amazing Maya Jane Coles. We're wild for that bass line and Ella sounds perfectly comforable on it. Since she was a master at any genre really we're sure she'd be up for singing this in a club. At least we can dream it! Jen and Rick in Hi Fashion could've easily stayed with the club friendly bangers they're known for. Instead they present Lighthouse, the wonderful and tender opener from upcoming EP You Are Gorgeous. Evoking Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time and Robyn's With Every Heartbeat it's a stunning blend of bittersweet emotions, stirring strings and a most welcome beat mid track. The highly stylized video never loses its heart and warmth; easily one of the best videos from the L.A duo. Sweetness! Enjoy below!
