Premiere: Oh Land - Head Up High

Nanna Øland Fabricius a.k.a. Oh Land casually premiered her new single Head Up High and it's a banger! L o v e it! We cannot wait for her crowd funded album Earth Sick to drop on November 11th. She's set the bar real high with this first taster of new material. The production is tight but thankfully sounds a bit raw and very effortless. Too nice! Nanna's incredible and distinct voice soars and beckons you to jump start whatever project you have lying around and just DO IT. Oh Land - Renaissance Girls (Nick Zinner Remix)

Oh Land drops her second album Wish Bone on September 24th and she's heading out on a headlining US tour at the exact same time. Nice! Lead single Renaissance Girls gets some major pull by Yeah Yeah Yeah's Nick Zinner. He takes the somewhat busy and eclectic original production and polishes it with the YYY magic he possesses. Have a listen beloooow! Love the majestic tempo of the remix for sure! Alsooo, Oh's totally awesome album artwork reminds us of the classic and iconic Jean-Paul Goude sleeve for Grace Jones's Island Life 1985 compilation album. Real nice reference!   

Video Premiere: Oh Land - My Boxer

Talk about keeping it in the family and saving some moolah! Oh Land was in her native Denmark last month and got her dad and dog to help her with the video to new single My Boxer. The video sees Nanna biking around barefoot in what must be a familiar place for her in Copenhagen. The song is a minimalistic and slightly hypnotic one sitting comfortably between rap and spoken word. Does baby like weird? Her album Wish Bone will be out later this year via boutique label Federal Prism run by producer Dave Sitek. Listen below! Thoughts?

Premiere: Oh Land - Renaissance Girls

Nanna Øland Fabricius aka Oh Land never fails to deliver! Her new singe Renaissance Girls tells the story from a renaissance point of view - a woman's point of view. History books are filled with the works of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci but what about the women? Oh sings about the complex world of renaissance womanhood, accomplishing their own project whilst knitting sweaters and giving birth and remaining a virgin. Wow, no mean feat getting this all in under 4 minutes! Nanna is mad talented and we cannot wait to hear more new stuff from her in the next few months. Yuksek Feat. Oh Land - Last of Our Kinds (Michael Garçon Remix)

So happy for the rush of classic disco sounds of late! French producer Yuksek has started his own label, Partyfine, and check out the first release! He's teamed up with brilliant Danish singer Oh Land for Last of Our Kinds. The EP promises greatness for sure! While the original mix that drops tomorrow sounds a bit darker in parts the Michael Garçon remix is all sunshine and happy times. The groove is simply outstanding and a must this spring! LOVE that this organic type of music is getting a big comeback. Oh's voice is perfect for this sound and we're real curious to hear more. Enjoy below!
