We've played London's finest Bob Matthews and Catherine Pockson AKA Alpines remixes of Lana Del Rey and Emeli Sandé a lot this year. So only fitting that this duo gets remixed by another duo - Brooklyn based CREEP! Their take on Empire is seriously addicitive and the build-up is the stuff of dark dreams. Haunting, chilling and that bass line - yeah! Check it out below + the album version and we threw in a bonus in the Maribou State remix to stream! Enjoy!
Yesterday we traveled in time slightly and posted Series 6 of Björk's Biophilia Remix Series. Fear not! Series 5 is out today and available to stream below! We are so besotted and impressed! The groove in the King Cannibal remix of Thunderbolt is the stuff of dreams, preferably nightmares. We love it! The disharmonies and chilling sounds makes it clear why DJ Mag said this Berlin based DJ is the "modern master of the satanic sub frequency". It's one of our favourite Björk remixes of all time! There you go! Thank you Dylan Richards! We're equally impressed with the Alva Noto Remodel of Dark Matter. It's evident that Carsten Nicolai, the man behind Alva Noto, is an award winning sound artist - performing and creating installations in many of the world's most prestigious spaces including the Guggenheim New York, the San Francisco MoMA, Modern Art Oxford, NTT Tokyo, Tate Modern and Venice Biennale in Italy. Also something worth noting is that he does not use sequencers in his work. What it all boils down to is a passion for music and sounds - so hit those players below! Listen to all the remix series so far and let us know your favourites in the comments below!

iamamiwhoami's debut album kin is out NOW as of an hour ago - and we're excited to finally be able to hear it in full! Jonna Lee's new video goods is a disco themed one and the most radio friendly track to date. If that means anything to you, haha. But still, the vibe is disco and a nice spot of choreography and almost a one take! Buy the album on iTunes and enjoooy! We're thinking the ending has something to do with the minimalistic album artwork. Gonna be interesting to see what it could mean. If we'll ever find out that is.
OK, so to the best of our knowledge part 5 of Björk's Biophilia remix project is due to be released tomorrow. We however are busy listening to part 6 already since we found it online. Wow. GORGEOUS remixes by Björk's frequent collaborator Matthew Herbert. He's taken the very essence of each track and lifted them to new heights. We are so impressed with all the parts! What a wonderful project to have going over summer. Listen to Sacrifice (Matthew Herbert 'Pins And Needles' Mix), Virus (Matthew Herbert 'Fever' Mix) & Mutual Core (Matthew Herbert's Teutonic Plates Mix) below! ENJOY! For the earlier series head here!
It'd be impossible to like Americana and not have a relationship with the music and legacy of Johnny Cash. In this documentary filmed in 2004, the year after Johnny and his wife June Carter-Cash we get interviews with one of his daughters and his son plus friends and colleagues. We'd say if you like music of any kind you'll have a relationship to Johnny's amazing catalogue. For instance, we're not crazy about Christmas music in general, but we love his takes on classic xmas tunes. The same if you like rock, pop, punk, country or hip-hop, it's all there! Also, the fact that he was a huge country act who recorded an album with Native American songs and got banned from having it played on radio - and also when offered his own TV show he paid it forward by booking acts who had a hard time getting airtime. A certain Bob Dylan was a guest on the first episode. A lot can be said, so we suggest you hit that play icon below. Enjoy! We've been going at this documentary thing for a while now so click here for the rest of 'em! Comment or Facebook us!
