Words cannot fully express how excited we are about new music from Sara Assbring aka El Perro Del Mar. Last we heard from our fellow Swede was last September when she did What Do You Expect based on newscasts from the London riots. She's continued with the more electro based sound on Innocence is Sense - it reminds us of horror films and Kate Bush with a twist of The Knife. The video is equally horror referential to us with Sara alone in a hotel room, old notes about fire burning and then the fire comes closer. Fitting as her upcoming album will be called Pale Fire! Shia LaBeouf and Denna Thomsen star in Alma Har'el's short film to Sigur Rós' gorgeous Fjögur Píanó. Set to become viral as they're both naked in the beginning with Shia showing full frontal. We love how this instrumental track gets such a wonderful treatment visually. It's beautiful and nightmarish all in one go. Is it reality or a dream? Heaven or hell? Pain or pleasure? The questions are many. If you watch nothing else this week, this one would be it. The film is part of the Valtari Mystery Film Experiment - sigur rós have given a dozen film makers the same modest budget and asked them to create whatever comes into their head when they listen to songs from the band's new album valtari. the idea is to bypass the usual artistic approval process and allow people utmost creative freedom. among the filmmakers are ramin bahrani, alma har'el and john cameron mitchell.
"we never meant our music to come with a pre-programmed emotional response. we don’t want to tell anyone how to feel and what to take from it. with the films, we have literally no idea what the directors are going to come back with. none of them know what the others are doing, so hopefully it could be interesting."
Misha B was one of the most talked about contenders at last years X Factor UK.
