Sigur Rós - Fjögur Píanó - Video Premiere

Shia LaBeouf and Denna Thomsen star in Alma Har'el's short film to Sigur Rós' gorgeous Fjögur Píanó. Set to become viral as they're both naked in the beginning with Shia showing full frontal. We love how this instrumental track gets such a wonderful treatment visually. It's beautiful and nightmarish all in one go. Is it reality or a dream? Heaven or hell? Pain or pleasure? The questions are many. If you watch nothing else this week, this one would be it. The film is part of the Valtari Mystery Film Experiment - sigur rós have given a dozen film makers the same modest budget and asked them to create whatever comes into their head when they listen to songs from the band's new album valtari. the idea is to bypass the usual artistic approval process and allow people utmost creative freedom. among the filmmakers are ramin bahrani, alma har'el and john cameron mitchell.

"we never meant our music to come with a pre-programmed emotional response. we don’t want to tell anyone how to feel and what to take from it. with the films, we have literally no idea what the directors are going to come back with. none of them know what the others are doing, so hopefully it could be interesting."

The track can be found on Valtari - out now.

I Am Because We Are - A Sunday Documentary

Last week we presented Paris Is Burning - and the similarities to I Am Because We Are are striking. Living with HIV/AIDS, poverty, homelessness, murder. But also warmth and some happiness amongst all the sadness and trying to take care of each other. The first time we saw I Am Because...we were absolutely shattered afterwards. Simply because we know that it's not unique events that are displayed in the film - cases like this exists all over the world really. Malawi is hit the hardest though as it ranks among the world's most densely populated and least developed countries. Out of a population of 15.4 million, almost one million people in Malawi are living with HIV. AIDS is the leading cause of death amongst adults in Malawi, and is a major factor in the country’s low life expectancy of just 54.2 years.

It's very easy to forget just how privileged we all are if you have had access to sanitation, a safe home environment, health care and education growing up - and just how important that is for your self-worth. We too lost a parent at a very young age, and we know how that sadness tugs at your inner core. We donate time working with a sanitation and safe sex project in India and give money to Amnesty every month - anything to try and be part of the solution.

This documentary came out in 2008 and is written, produced and narrated by Madonna - one of the world's most recognized. But the events in it are really of concern to us all because the title says it all. I Am Because We Are. The player for some reason states that it's the trailer - but it is in fact the whole film.

We'd love to hear your thoughts after watching it! Comment below or Facebook us!

Sigur Rós - Ekki Múkk - Premiere

We couldn't be happier today is the day for new material from Icelandic Sigur Rós. We felt this morning like we were a bit sad and needed something we couldn't put our finger on. But Ekki Múkk is like floating away on a big cloud with the sun high above us, with no room for sadness. Beautiful! The new album Valtari is out May 28th, we can't wait!
