Premiere: Ane Brun - Feeling Good (Nina Simone Cover)

Norway's finest Ane Brun is about to release her retrospective collection Songs 2003-2013 next week and on it comes this brand new recording! The classic Feeling Good, most notably attached to Nina Simone is a wonderful piece and Ane treats it with the gentlest of care. Gone is the big dramatic background and it welcomes a wonderful violin that we're getting Scandinavian folk music vibes from. Ane suffers from the auto immune disorder lupus and we came to think of that aspect hearing her version. Her voice exudes an urgency and depth that comes from life experience. She tells her story and we can't stop listening to it. Nor do we wan't to stop. Top marks and love to you Ane!

Premiere: Beyoncé - Grown Woman

Beyoncé's Grown Woman has seen blowing up online in shaky fan videos from her shows and extended from that awful soft drink commercial. There's no denying this is a sick track. Love that distinct Timbaland beat with its African inspiration and the organic feel of it all. Those drums and what we think is Congolese singers in the breakdown. Real awesome! We dare you to try and sit still listening to the full track, haha. We couldn't even type this entry without do a spot of dancin'!

The Remixes: House of Wallenberg Feat. Octavia St. Laurent - Be Somebody

The House of Wallenberg keeps on releasing excellent music! As we've been on a real house high these last few weeks it's awesome to add the Be Somebody remix EP to the playlist! Since the original and Part 2 sport heavy early 90's vibes and feature Paris Is Burning legend Octavia St. Laurent with the latter also incorporates a verse by equal badass Neneh Cherry - this release ties it all together so well. Heartbreakingly enough the entire project is released after Octavia passed away, and is also her only full music project to see the light of day - if there's such a thing as an afterlife we can only hope she's in a club where they have access to new releases! CVNT TR4XXX goes the chopped and layered route with the vocals while adding a sick bass and dirty synths. Love that! Perfect for a Vogue-off! Stockholm based duo Kings of the Universe throws glitter in the air and create a sweet nod to classic Chicago house. It sounds like a sickenin' 12" you'd find in hidden crate in a vintage shop even! This is so incredible ya'll! We've played a lot of 90's house lately and been craving more and more. Also, Sky Ferreira's Everything Is Embarrassing is one of our most played songs since last year and we never get tired of it. Lo and behold what we just found! L.A based DJ and producer Danny Taurus just proved once and for all that everything is indeed not embarrassing. In fact, some things are awesome! This 90's inspired remix sounds like the real deal. The house piano, sprinklings of shimmering synths and chopped, layered vocals with the chorus bursting out after an agonizing wait. Argh, so good - and it's a free download!
