Ane Brun Feat. Linnea Olsson - Halo (Beyoncé Cover)

We love it when amazing Ane Brun takes on well known songs. Luckily for us she does that often. She has incredible taste in music to choose them of course. But then something magical happens. Ane has this thing of completely making them her own, infusing the songs with her unique sound. What comes next is what we love the most. While she transforms classic songs into something new and thrilling, she makes us realize how much we love the originals to begin with. That takes a true musician loving her own body of work we think! Beyoncé's grandly produced show closer Halo becomes a sweet, tender and sunny love poem impossible not to love. By her side is pop cellist Linnea Olsson who adds lovely sunbeams with her craft, and near the end she lends her beautiful husky voice as well. Premiere: Ane Brun - Feeling Good (Nina Simone Cover)

Norway's finest Ane Brun is about to release her retrospective collection Songs 2003-2013 next week and on it comes this brand new recording! The classic Feeling Good, most notably attached to Nina Simone is a wonderful piece and Ane treats it with the gentlest of care. Gone is the big dramatic background and it welcomes a wonderful violin that we're getting Scandinavian folk music vibes from. Ane suffers from the auto immune disorder lupus and we came to think of that aspect hearing her version. Her voice exudes an urgency and depth that comes from life experience. She tells her story and we can't stop listening to it. Nor do we wan't to stop. Top marks and love to you Ane!

Ane Brun - These Days - Video Premiere

Norway's finest Ane Brun's These Days from her album It All Starts With One was on our Best of 2011 list and now it's finally getting a single release! Not a day too soon! We're crazy about the dramatic drums, flawless vocals and incredible lyrics. Like how good can it get? Well it can get better as we now how the video, it's a minimalistic one take and just perfect for the drama in the song. Beautiful. With it's setting and post-production it reminds us of Björk's Hidden Place. Watch below!

Ane Brun - Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) [Arcade Fire Cover] - Free Download

Norway's finest, Ane Brun, is releasing her incredible album It All Starts With One in the US on May 1st. On the deluxe iTunes version comes this gem, her cover of Arcade Fire's beautiful Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels). We absolutley love it when she covers other people's songs. Her versions of True Colors, Big In Japan and Jóga are brilliant. Neighborhood becomes a lullaby and it's so soothing to hear it. Listen below and then head here for the .mp3. Ane Brun Feat. José González - Worship - Video Premiere

Ane Brun's 2011 album It All Starts With One isn't out in the US until May 1st - 11 months after the first single Do You Remember dropped in Europe. Wow. We've listened to it a lot - so much goodness on there! One of the absolute highlights is the collaboration with José González - Worship, which happens to be the new single. We love both individually so paired together it's just ear candy! The video is the second chapter released from the short film One based to music from Ane Brun's album.
