Introducing: Mabel - Know Me Better

Say hello to Mabel and excellent debut single Know Me Better! Really lovin' the crisper than crisp vocals paired with the rough around edges production. Such a nice mix! The message of showing your true self and getting to know a lover really hits home as well. Hard but necessary for a healthy relationship. Mabel is the youngest daughter of legendary couple Neneh Cherry and Cameron McVey - talk about having awesome reference points in music from birth. After all Neneh and Cam were the ones who gave Massive Attack their first big break, financially and studio wise. Video Premiere: Devonté Hynes and Neneh Cherry - He, She, Me

Wow, we love this! Devonté Hynes (a.k.a. Blood Orange) and Neneh Cherry team up with London department store Selfridges to deliver a freedom anthem and vogue off video. He, She, Me is sublime and both sound absolutely amazing on it. The groove is stellar and airy elements lift it higher and higher. The video features choreography by Ryan Heffington and is a true weekend starter. All this to launch the new Agender fashion range - someone's done their homework on what gets us going. Thoughts?

Video Premiere: Neneh Cherry Feat. Robyn - Out Of The Black

Neneh Cherry and Robyn's Out Of The Black got some lo-fi visuals by Dario Vigorito to go with the minimalistic Four Tet production of the music and we love it. The whole package is rock hard cut-and-paste NTSC analog PAL realness. Neneh's opening verse of trying to mind her business so bad stuff she can't witness goes perfectly with the visuals. The blurred signals of yesteryear are brutally beaten up now with cold, hard HD reality. The quick clip of the Downing Street street sign sends that signal too. We're out of the black... but into what? Check it out below! Thoughts?

Premiere: Neneh Cherry Feat. Robyn - Out of The Black (Bouvet Radio Mix)

Wow, Out of The Black literally comes brand new Neneh Cherry and Robyn music! We knew they had collaborated on a track for Neneh's upcoming Blank Project album and suspected it would be geared towards single material. Well, this radio mix by Norwegian producer Bouvet sounds like it's a programmers dream. It reminds a bit of Röyksopp and we feel like crusin' down the PCH or something with this on full blast! Of course the album track could be, and probably is, a 180 from this take - but so good to hear a bit of what they worked on during last summer. The album is out Feb 25th and the full Bouvet remix will be featured on the bonus disc of the physical release. Enjoy! Thoughts?

Update: Looks like Bouvet themselves or their label changed their minds as the stream is gone. We'll keep you posted when it's back again! 

Update 2: ...and here is the album version! A lot more organic than the radio mix just like we thought! The Four Tet production sounds like it could be a spontaneous jam sessions at Neneh's house! Thoughts?

Premiere: Neneh Cherry - Everything

Neneh Cherry is gearing up for the February 25th release of her first solo album in 18 years - Blank Project and safe to say it's exciting times for sure. She treated us to the title track back in November and here's some more! Everything will serve as the album closer and clocks in at 07:20 minutes. In that space of time we get almost like a meditation on life and what becomes of it when we're busy making other plans. Beat poetry mode! The Four Tet produced beat is strangely comforting and hypnotizing. It's bonkers as they would say in the UK and reminds us a bit of a Serge Gainsbourg's Bonnie and Clyde. The freshly released remix by Berlin based electronica producers Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer is a dream in its minimalistic state. Nice! It continues the meditation and extends it to over 10 minutes of that Cherry goodness. Soon it's time for the Robyn/Neneh duet and judging by this it's gonna be everything if we just wait a bit.
