Premiere: Lana Del Rey - Tropico

Lana Del Rey closes the Born To Die era with a huge bang. Her Anthony Mandler directed biblical short film Tropico contains three amazing tracks from The Paradise Edition; Body Electric, Gods and Monsters plus Bel Air, and stars Lana and Shaun Ross. The environments range from a utopian paradise filled with American icons, gritty and seedy shots from the streets of Los Angeles filled with strippers, violence and weapons to a serene and stunning countryside where all the hurt melts away. Sin and redemption, darkness and light. The last shot is really powerful and leaves us with questions and opens up for interpretations to say the least. Lana announced last night at the Los Angeles premiere that her second album will be called Ultra-Violence, so an album based on A Clockwork Orange could be around the corner. And carries on what she started off with her back alley blues paired with luxury. Watch below! Thoughts?

Antony and the Johnsons - Angel of Fire (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire OST)

The wonderful Antony and the Johnsons are the album closer on the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Angel of Fire is a dramatic and heavenly song that soars and stirs emotions like you'd expect. Written by Antony Hegarty in 1992 already, the backing track for the song is in parts from a recording once used for NYC club performances. This eclectic approach suits his artistry and how lovely to get a peek inside the vault and at the same time get a superb song out of it. We love the gentle sound soothing our ears on a cold November night. We're sitting close to the fire tonight...

Love Sia penned songs but it's for sure a huge treat when she sings them herself as well to say the least! She become quite the soundtrack queen as well - Elastic Heart if for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and features The Weeknd's honey soaked voice and Diplo's sick beats! The blend of all this talent just makes it a joy to listen to.

The more than dramatic and somber original gets an upbeat pulse in the hands of Cannes based DJ Kevin Blanc. That house piano and bassline really gets us going! How fitting to stumble around the South of France with a champagne bottle in hand singing - Will you still love me when I got nothing than my aching soul? C'est parfait! Enjoy!

Lana Del Rey's haunting and gorgeous Young and Beautiful is the lead off single from The Great Gatsby soundtrack. While the movie has started to receive less than stellar reviews this song has started to get some Oscar buzz around it. It's truly magnificent and timeless. The Sophie Muller directed video just premiered and Lana evokes some truly old school Hollywood shots. In this day and age it feels rare to have a video really take its time and have not that much going on. Long takes and head shots in the school of Marlene Dietrich realness paired with a gangster tear tattoo. Enjoy below!
