Premiere: Neneh Cherry Feat. Robyn - Out of The Black (Bouvet Radio Mix)

Wow, Out of The Black literally comes brand new Neneh Cherry and Robyn music! We knew they had collaborated on a track for Neneh's upcoming Blank Project album and suspected it would be geared towards single material. Well, this radio mix by Norwegian producer Bouvet sounds like it's a programmers dream. It reminds a bit of Röyksopp and we feel like crusin' down the PCH or something with this on full blast! Of course the album track could be, and probably is, a 180 from this take - but so good to hear a bit of what they worked on during last summer. The album is out Feb 25th and the full Bouvet remix will be featured on the bonus disc of the physical release. Enjoy! Thoughts?

Update 2: ...and here is the album version! A lot more organic than the radio mix just like we thought! The Four Tet production sounds like it could be a spontaneous jam sessions at Neneh's house! Thoughts?

Robyn - Hang With Me (Midside Remix)

While we collectively await the new Robyn and Röyksopp material this year how 'bout some bootleg deep house to tide us ovah? YEAH baby! French DJ Hugo Georget a.k.a Midside takes Robyn's 2010 Body Talk classic Hang With Me and gives it a delicious house treatmeant. The vocals are actually live ones from an acoustic performance for the Studio Brussel radio show. Sweeeet! We cannot get enough of that new bassline and chopped vox that teases and tantalizes. Premiere: Neneh Cherry - Blank Project

On February 25th '14 Neneh Cherry will release Blank Project, her first solo record in 16 years. Produced by post-punker Kieran Hebden a.k.a Four Tet the whole album (10 tracks) was recorded and mixed down in just 5 days. Also worth mentioning is that a certain Robyn Carlsson will be featured on a track called Out of The Black! The first taster is the title track, an eclectic and organic sounding song miles away from the sleek Buffalo Stance. Neneh's voice is raw over a sparse and dark beat. Those drums and bass hides a lot of pain and sadness while at the same time invite your body to find its primordial rhythm and just let it all out. The album is written to work through a personal tragedy and the evidence shows in this track. Sounding like a beat poet we're getting snippets from a family situation. Robyn, Snoop and their crew seem to think it's time to party or go home. Out of nowhere 2010's U Should Know Better got a video on Friday - and here's the first remixxx! DJ Carli Löf and Savage Skulls turn it into a pumping bass anthem perfect for a hard style dance battle! Ya'll know even the CIA know better than to fuck with Robyn - so you better bust those moves stat!

Wow, we didn't see this coming! Robyn and Snoop Dogg's (nowadays Snoop Lion) three year old track U Should Know Better just got a video! And what a fun and awesome video it is! Starring Robyn's stylist Decida and what looks like R's son (on film that is) as doppelgangers! Love the editing, styling and especially the dancing! Top marks!
