Daphne Guinness for Comme des Garçons

Daphne Guinness fragrance for Comme des Garçons entilted Daphne has a super cool ad directed by David Parker called Mnemosyne. Says Daphne:

Scent is directly related to memory, It is something of a sensory path, evoking snap shots of one’s past as you smell it. It has the power to transport you from the room in which you stand, to a place buried within the depths of your memory. I wanted to illustrate that scent can take you on a journey. The narrative is built around flux, fluidity, and the thought-processes that connect micro associations with macro experience. It is a representation of the universes that exist in all of our minds; the world as we perceive it, and our relationship to it.”

Metropolis by Karl Lagerfeld

Fritz Lang's 1927 masterpiece Metropolis has inspired numerous generations of film makers, artists and designers. Set in a futuristic urban dystopia it seems forever relevant. We've fallen in love with Karl Lagerfeld's interpretation for the February 2010 issue of German Vogue. Using his favourite male model Baptiste Giabiconi and Toni Garrn he's created a beautiful editorial that stays true to the original. Watch a clip from the movie below.
