Chanel - Cruise Collection 2013 - Full Fashion Show

Uncle Karl and his house of Chanel presented a badass mash-up of eighteenth century French aristocracy and modern punk rock n' roll style for the cruise collection at Versailles this week. We love the idea of taking couture and mixing them with contemporary urban elements. The classic Chanel suit mixed with trainers and a baroque wig? Yes plz. We'll have that for cocktails soon. We can't wait to see what this will look like in the shops and on the buyers. NICE usage of the music too - our fave Swede rapper Gnucci Banana and also Crookers to name but a few. Sweet! Florence Welch by Karl Lagerfeld for Vogue Nippon

Florence + The Machine looks handsome as well as hard as nails on the cover of Vogue Japan's October issue. Her silk print blazer totally reminds us of a bullfighter! Karl Lagerfeld shot her for the Music Meets Style editorial and as she is an awesome musician and recently was made the muse for Gucci it's clear to see why. Go Florence!

Chanel - The Tale of a Fairy by Karl Lagerfeld (Chanel Cruise 2012)

For Chanel's cruise collection 2011/2012 Uncle Karl has created The Tale of a Fairy - a short film featuring acting performances by the A-list of models. Kristen McMenamy, Freja Beha Erichsen and Baptiste Giabiconi to mention but a few. Set in the south of France it tells the story of violence and luxury. Models who act? Believe it! Now, we're thinking this film is supposed to sell the idea of Chanel's cruise collection + the idea of luxury. We're not quite sure it hits the target, quite the opposite we'd say. Have a look! It had it's premiere this week at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc at the Cap d’Antibes, France.
