Premiere: Alicia Keys - In Common

Hell yes! We're absolutely lovin' Alicia Keys' brand new single In Common! It's her first single in four years and she's switched up her sound big time. Here we're getting *tropical* flavours and a soft flowing groove joined by a sharper centre with a tribal beat. Plus those patented vocals that melts us down like chocolate. The production is stellar and the whole finished track is absolute fire. The single is out n o w - welcome back!

Premiere: House of Wallenberg Feat. Adeva - I Believe

Category is: Soulful Piano House Gospel Extravaganza! Yeees! Sicknin' House of Wallenberg teaming up with house legend ADEVA sounds good in theory and sounds even better as a finished track. Honestly, Adeva's Warning single + iconic video is forever a fave and part is her strong presence and killer vocals. Same goes for 2016 - she slays the house down and some behind that mic. Petter Wallenberg continues his flair for tight beats and production with stellar hooks and pumping bass lines. He delivers the goods and we're hooked! The single is out May 6 and a new H.O.W. will follow + he's joining us as the MoMA in Malmö, Sweden on May 16 for a Paris is Burning screening + talk. Amazing!

Tribute: El Perro Del Mar - I Would Die 4 U (Prince Cover)

To express what Prince's music means to us in a few sentences is simply impossible. He was a wonderful musician - a genius and truly the ear zero for modern music, all is to be found in his vast catalogue. His death last week really felt and still feels unreal. A world without him in it is unimaginable. How absolutely amazing that the wondrous El Perro Del Mar puts what cannot be said with words into a stunning cover of the sumblime I Would Die 4 U off of 1984's landmark Prince and The Revolution album + OST to Purple Rain. The sorrow in this cover is palpable and her broken tone really hits home how utterly sad this time in music really is. She recorded it  at home the other day with what she had there - a tabla drum machine + analogue synth. The wonky tone is perfection for this and its urgency paired with the emotive vocals + heavenly lyrics makes for a stunning listen that brought tears to our eyes the first time we heard it last night and continues even now when pressing play. The spoken intro from a mid 80's MTV interview is amazing - Prince truly was something that we cannot fully comprehend and how amazing we got to share the planet with him for a period of time. R.I.P. brilliant force of nature!

Premiere: Róisín Murphy - Mastermind

When it rains it pours! Goodness in this case as Róisín Murphy is giving us life by already releasing a new album after last years brilliant Hairless Toys! Upcoming album Take Her Up To Monto is out on July 8th and first taster is the slinky Mastermind! Sounding like the soundtrack to an early 80's movie it takes us to church with its inital gentle flow that grows harder + wondrous collection of synths and those engaging bleeps and curve balls. Not forgetting to mention those patented RóMu vocals that conntects it all together into a sweet spot like no other + that sicknin' outro with jibberish and electronic vibes that closes and opens up for a whole new chapter. Love it! Top marks Ró!

Premiere + Free Download: RØMANS Feat. Mary J. Blige - Overthinking

Amazing! Just the other day we were thinking how sweet it'd be with some new MJB, and here it is! Amazing songwriter and producer RØMANS best know for his work with Disclosure has teamed up with Mary J. Blige for a brilliant duet. Overthinking utilizes both their stunning voices to the maximum over a stunning electro production that shimmers with a muted glow. The result sounds like an updated version to Marvin Gaye's duet albums with Tammi Terrell and Diana Ross; how cool is that? PLUS it's a free download thanks to Annie Mac! Win, win!
