Premiere: Lykke Li - No Rest For The Wicked (Klangkarussel Remix)

Lykke Li club remixes are usually spot on and transform her subdued sadness into a glimmering night sky filled with shooting stars. Austrian electronic duo Klangkarussel's take on No Rest For The Wicked reminds in parts a bit of the insanely good Magician remix of I Follow Rivers. The organic, retro tinged original meets a harder, glossier production but still manages to keep her vocals front and center. Nice! Listen below! Thoughts?

Video Premiere: Lykke Li - No Rest For The Wicked

Lykke Li's lament No Rest For The Wicked just got some stark visuals to it. In a very simple manner director Tarik Saleh manages to have us feel sad, gasp for air and feel heartbroken - all this when we at the same time love both song and video. Conflicting feelings for sure. We wanna switch it off but can't stop looking. Top marks all around! The new LL album I Never Learn is out on May 2nd on her own LL Recordings.

Premiere: Lykke Li - No Rest For The Wicked

Lykke Li teased us earlier this month but is now ready to drop the lead single No Rest For The Wicked from her upcoming I Never Learn album (out May 2nd). Honestly, this is crazy good ya'll. The subdued emotions hit us right where it hurts, but hurts oh so good too. It's 03:40 minutes that just has to be experienced not written endlessly about. Only thing we can say is; it's perfection.

Video Premiere: Lykke Li - Love Me Like I'm Not Made Of Stone

Instead of coming out guns blazing like 3,5 years ago - Lykke Li wears her heart on her sleeve when kicking off her new era. Love Me Like I'm Not Made Of Stone is raw and painful to say the least. Brutally honest and comes after Lykke had a horrible breakup in her personal life. The whole album I Never Learn is out May 5th and is promised to be filled with just power ballads. If by power ballad Li means knocking the wind out of us leaving us breathless and heartbroken she's hit the nail on the head. The Tarik Saleh directed video is a treatment of piercing minimalistic pain. It's actually painful to watch the sadness in her eyes and hearing the song.

A devil's hand across my heart, as we dance through the dark. Go ahead, go ahead, love me deep, until you can't...

Says Lykke: I wrote No Rest for the Wicked in Sweden when I was packing up my shit, and I’d just gotten out of a relationship and it was a horrible time. I just had the hurt, shame, sadness, guilt, longing. In the verse, I’m referring to myself pleading guilty but I’m referring to all of us.

She's produced the album herself with longtime co-producer Björn Yttling and now also L.A mastermind Greg Kurstin. This album marks the end of the trilogy that started with her amazing 2008 debut Youth Novels and 2011's flawless follow up Wounded Rhymes. Listen below and tread gently if you're sensitive souls like us.

Premiere: David Lynch - Are You Sure

David Lynch's sophomore album The Big Dream drops on July 15th and we're too excited! First taster - the heavenly collaboration with Lykke Li (!!) I'm Waiting Here is perfection so the wait is unbearable almost. To soothe us until then - here's the first official single Are You Sure with David himself on vocal. Evoking a long forgotten 50's track we're mad about the eerie dreaminess and the simplicity. Like stepping into a small bar in a strange town and hearing your whole life unveil through the jukebox in a corner.
