Stream: TLC VS. Mark Morrison - Girl Talk (Return Of The Mack '96 Remix)

We love us some TLC and remember a friend givin' us the Girl Talk vinyl in 2002 for our b'day. Great memory but sad of course as it came out after Left-Eye died in that car crash. :/ We were so in the mood for a mashup and wow, here it is! TLC get to party with Mark Morrison's '96 monster one hit wonder Return Of The Mack. Also, that Tom Tom Club sample - love it! Second time this week we've had it on repeat! We actually prefer the vocals over this beat - it's a harder, richer sound but also funkier. Can't argue with that! Enjoooy!

Free Download: TLC - No Scrubs (Davidian Bootleg Remix)

TLC's major #1 No Scrubs kinda defined a whole era. Released in January 1999 it looked into the future with a hopeful but piercing gaze. The Y2K phenomena was just around the corner and email was a very cool thing, haha. The 'no-money-then-get-the-hell-away-from-me' theme that runs throughout feels very 90's though! Last week UK producer Davidian took  for a run on the dance floor even if she really doesn't wanna do that right now. This time 'round he deletes the late 90's She'kspere production and dips the vocals in solid gold with his intense deep house. It's tight, slick and fun to listen to for sure! We wanna be in a small club in East London dancing with the lights down low and an ice cold beer clutched along with our iPhone. Niiiice. Go grab the download below and enjoy!

TLC - Meant To Be (New Single)

The day after we posted that insanely good TLC/The Knife mash-up the former went and released a brand new excellent single. Meant To Be put us in such a reflective mood we had to wait a little to post it. The Ne-Yo penned mid-tempo track is such a 90's throwback it sounds like it was recorded during the FanMail sessions. On October 15th their new greatest hits 20 is released and contains two new tracks - this one and Posh Life written by Lady GaGa and Dallas Austin. We're so happy that they decided not to tag on an old unreleased rap by Left-Eye. Since it's impossible to not think about her when TLC is mentioned she's part of the track anyway. It's hard to think it's already 11 years since her death in a car accident. She had an amazing decade as the punk girl of the legendary R&B trio and to think it's over 20 years since their debut Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip is just mind blowing. Like, where the hell did the time go?! We have a feeling that thought will hit us more and more since our childhood is starting to become anniversaries, haha. This sunny yet reflective song is more than a fitting tribute to one of the biggest acts of the last two decades. Enjoy!

Mash-Up: TLC VS. The Knife - Creepy Heartbeats

TLC's classic (and first) Billboard #1 from '94 Creep is a legendary cheating anthem talking about a truly dysfunctional relationship. The frankness, harmonies and sampled horn section makes for a truly outstanding track. Equally enchanting and sick is of course The Knife's 2002 masterpiece Heartbeats that we honestly already know will listen to until our last breath, haha. This mash proves that it's not just Ashanti and Fat Joe who can get down with the Dreijer siblings. We absolutely love the honey R&B harmonies with the steely production of the music. It works so well and when Karin's voice hits us midway we definitely need some hands to lean on. A superb start to the weekend's shenanigans early from Nashville based Pimpdaddysupreme for sure. Go grab the .mp3 below and enjoy!
