M.I.A. - Bring The Noize (Extended Freekdem Version)

M.I.A.'s new single Bring The Noize has really grown on us these last few weeks. The biggest objection we had was that it's so sample heavy. Nonetheless there's no denying its clattering and stuttering beats is perfect for her fiery rap. If you want more here's the just released Extended Freekdem Version which adds a new verse at the end. Video Premiere: M.I.A. - Bring The Noize

A new M.I.A. video usually feels like an experience to say the least. If she's not blowing up redheads she's racing cars in Saudi Arabia with badass Saudi women. The video to her sample heavy Bring The Noize just premiered and she's going all My Little Pony on acid and terror realness. Over that banging and stuttering beat she parties hard with her gang behind a fence and in an underground lair. The term 'holy cow' comes to mind as well! As always bricolage comes to us as well. Premiere: Kylie Minogue - Skirt (Switch Remix)

Three weeks ago we were looking for some warmth in Kylie Minogue's new American project. Skirt sadly comes across as hard and calculated and we couldn't even post the teaser video - she deserves way better than that! Lo and behold - some warmth! Awesome producer Switch dresses KM's skirt in some groovy beats bordering on chill music - and it's such welcome turn. Gone is that hard busy shine and replaced with some fun and a sunny organic disco beat. It's even evoking that legendary Loose Joints - Arthur Russell sound! The tossing of clothes and getting d.o.w.n should be an awesome and fun experience so finally this song is starting to make some sense! Listen below! Thoughts? 

Major Lazer Feat. Amber - Get Free - Video Premiere

Major Lazer and Amber's beautiful Get Free has been around the block a while now. How awesome we now have a video for it! The track is strangely soothing, and we love the juxtaposition with the visuals of serious booty shaking on Jamaica. The idea of showing every day life there fit the lyrics about longing for a better life and wanting freedom so well. After all Jamaica ranks as as one of the poorest and inequal places in the Americas, not to mention ranked as the worst place for LGBTQ's in the world. Politics and booty talk in the same post. Oh yes. We love all the layers and angles that can engage in discussions. Watch below!

M.I.A. Feat. Missy Elliott & Rye Rye - Bad Girls (Switch Remix)

Who can forget the video to M.I.A's Bad Girls? Not us anyway! Even though this baby was released originally as a demo on her Vicki Leekx mixtape in January 2011 - and then for reals in February of this year - NOW comes the remixes! Talk about saving some goodies for last! One of 'em will even feature Azealia Banks! Wow! This Switch remixes features Maya's super protégé Rye Rye and frickin' Missy Elliott! Such a treat hearing some new Missy $hiz! Her flow is as tight as usual! The overall feel is that this needs serious spins on a dance floor near you stat! Enjoy!  The full remix EP drops July 3rd!
