Premiere: Róisín Murphy - Jealousy (House Mix)

When it rains, it pours! In this case it's raining $$$ billz on us as there is even more new Róisín Murphy! After last week's Hairless Toys announcement and new single Gone Fishing we're getting a one off house 12" that won't be on the album. Hell yas, baby! Get ready for Jealousy, baby! This is the A-side of the vinyl and is known as the "House mix". The b-side is called "Disco mix" and we cannot wait to hear what kind of beat will back Ró up for that one. Co-written and produced by noted DJ Parrot it's a tight and bumpy ride with a dark bassline, vocal loops and a main vox that just won't quit. Love it! The vinyl is out on March 16th via mega DJ Damian Lazarus' label Crosstown Rebels. Niiiice! And oh yeah, this project is mixed by legendary producer/DJ Eric Kupper. Ró sure knows how to pick 'em and it's so damn good to have her back in full force. Enjooooy! Thoughts?!  

Premiere: Róisín Murphy - Gone Fishing

...and just like that pigs can fly and hell just froze over! Close to eight years (!) after her stunning Overpowered album - Róisín Murphy just announced that her third album Hairless Toys (!!!!) is coming out in May. Also, she casually dropped the lead single Gone Fishing on her SoundCloud! Harking back to 2005, we hear a bit of the experimental lust and absolute wonder of her debut solo album Ruby Blue here. Woohooo! It's organic, jazzy and freshhh and not very instant. Just like how we like our Ró! Taking a trip into unknown territory and inviting us all along to come with and explore. We are so happy right now! Holy smokes, what an amazing surprise. Enjoooy! Thoughts?! 

This song was written after I watched the documentary film Paris Is Burning, having read an article which referenced it in a discussion about House music's origins in black, gay culture. I was deeply moved by this film. 'I had to run this far from home' - it's about the outcasts who could never fit into mainstream society and how they created a safe place in the drag 'Ball' scene of New York in the ‘80s. 

Premiere: Luca C & Brigante Feat. Róisín Murphy - Invisions

Hearing Róisín Murphy's iconic voice on a new dance track makes us both elated and sad. The latter as we so crave a whole new Ró album since about a million years. Ok, since the past 6 years! How amazing then to hear the FULL club version of her Invisions collaboration with London duo Luca C & Brigante. They've done a stellar job and we love how classic it sounds. Like a flawless house 12" found and then treasured forever. The production is tight and has both a well grounded spine in the bassline and fun and airy parts. Of course the Murphy vocals really dominate and that's just fine by us, haha. Jamie Jones chops 'em up on his minimal remixxx and Luke Solomon takes it out for dirty drinks! Premiere: Róisín Murphy - Ancora Tu (Baldelli Remix)

Róisín Murphy's amazing cover of Lucio Battisti's 1976 Italo hit Ancora Tu has been on repeat here since spring. As of today all the remixes from her Mi Senti EP is officially out on vinyl. Cool! Fresh to the bunch is this one by absolute Italo disco pioneer Daniele Baldelli. He's considered a a key innovator in the genre with his 'cosmic disco' style filled with hypnotic slowed down beats. This remix has moments of cosmic psychedelia for sure, especially vocally, but that electric guitar kicks some major ass and the bassline never veers off its glowing course. Nice! Enjooooy! Thoughts? 

Premiere: Róisín Murphy - In Sintesi (Psychemagik Remix)

Róisín Murphy's Italian EP Mi Senti is a perfect listen, we love it for its magical covers of Italian classics, wonderful arrangements and the one brand new song that fits like a glove - In Sintesi. Naturally we love Ró's more than flawless vocals and how immersed she sounds on each song. UK duo Psychemagik have created a magical forest of sounds on their remix. A 7:28 minute trip that takes you from ground level, up into the tree branches, then hoovering over with finally catapulting you into the night sky. It shimmers, bleeps and pulsates much like an entity full of dark secrets and you can't help to look right down inside to find out what's hidden at the bottom.
