Free Download: FKA twigs - Two Weeks (Rationale Edit)

We're seeing FKA twigs live in concert next month and safe to say - we cannot wait! Luckily for us we came across this crazy good bootleg of her amazing and anthemic Two Weeks by L.A based producer Rationale. Her debut album LP1 needs a sidekick and here we have it! And yes, this will keep us rational and not stir crazy until the show, haha. It's a 7:36 minute trip into another dimension with the original stuttering beat amped up by a new tempo and sensation. The darkness and slow pulsating atmosphere is teamed with laser beams and a hands-in-the-air feeling - the contradiction is amazing. Laugh, cry? Both at the same time is the best option we have a feelin'. So much is going on here, ya'll better be prepared to hit repeat to catch it all. Enjoy! 

FKA twigs - Two Weeks (Live @ BBC Radio 1 Zane Lowe Sessions)

We're so in BBC radio mode this week! FKA twigs and her band stopped by BBC Radio 1's Maida Vale studios to chat with Zane Lowe about music, inspiration and London's Vogueing scene to mention a few topics. And as if that wasn't exciting enough we get brand new live performances of Two Weeks, Give Up and Pendulum from her debut album LP1. Very awesome! It's fascinating to hear twigs' thoughts and background as we've never heard/seen an interview with her before. Plus her live vocals are sick, so damn good n' her band is super tight. Alas, we can't have it all - it's the censored lyrcis we get treated to. But we think at least one 'motherfucker' was there to be heard. Check it all out below - a perfect 26 minute listen. <3 

Premiere: FKA twigs - Pendulum

FKA twigs just released a brand new track from her upcoming debut album LP1! Pendulum is exactly that - hanging freely, swinging back and forth. twigs' voice sounds like an instrument and we love the minimalistic take on the production. Intricate yet sparse. From the bare bones of the first minutes to the more pop hook feel of the closing ones. It's disturbing us somehow with all the different elements - yet we love it too. Really love it. The pendulum moves us for sure. Cannot wait for the album to drop on August 12th!

Tahliah Barnett a.k.a. FKA twigs took the music world by storm with her incredible Two Weeks and its incredible video. To say it's been on repeat here would be an understatement. If you, like us, fell in mad love with the steel and silk feel of it all you gotta listen to this bootleg mix by Carter Jayan. It's brooding and as black and seemingly endless as a tar pit. And we love it! The shift in gear and heavy sub really complements the stuttering and soaring vocals and reduces the bright feel if it all. twigs' debut album LP1 is out August 12th on Young Turks and we cannot waaait.

We're in deep FKA twigs mode today! Her amazing self produced Two Weeks premiered on BBC Radio 1 less than 12 hours ago (on repeat today) - and here's the brilliant video! What we're madly in love with music-wise is the darkness and depth that is paired with a gorgeous stuttering beat and vocals made of both steel and silk. Having someone call you motherfucker never sounded so good. The video directed by superb Nabil Elderkin is pure perfection and an orgy in Egyptian goddess power. It just sucks you in and makes it impossible to veer away from with your eyes and mind. Truly spectacular combining of true artistry and directness that is so refreshing. We cannot wait for debut album LP1 to be released on August 12th that's for sure!
