Lykke Li - Silver Springs (Fleetwood Mac Cover) - Premiere

We honestly can't think of a better pairing this summer than Lykke Li and Fleetwood Mac. Listen to this on a gorgeous summer day with windows open and the sun shining in! Silver Springs was originally recorded for the classic Fleetwood 1976 album Rumours - which has sold in 40 million copies. It was however never included until 2004's re-issue! Lykke takes this radio friendly track and throws some black glitter dust on top - creating a new layer of depth so the lyrics really sparkle of sadness. The instrumentation is sparse and production reminds us of an old 1950's jukebox. Amazing. We love both Lykke Li's and Stevie Nicks' voices so what an amazing treat to have both to play back to back! Since this new version is part of the Fleetwood Mac tribute album Just Tell Me That You Want Me can we hope for a duet in the future! How awesome would that be?! Other artists on this album will be Marianne Faithfull, Karen Elson and Bonnie 'Prince' Billy so looking forward! It'll be out August 14th so ya know! Enjoy!

YACHT - Le Goudron (Brigitte Fontaine Cover) - Video Premiere + Free Download

Portland based YACHT does a cover of Brigitte Fontaine and the Art Ensemble Of Chicago's 1969 track Le Goudron and we love it. The original's experimental jazz and spoken word feel is replaced with neon lights and bleeps. Like YACHT has taken their mother's vintage outfits and remixed 'em for a Friday night out. The video's DIY feel only highlights it. Nice! Original here and the English insane lyrics heeeere. Also, don't miss Brigitte Fontaine's corker of a song with Grace Jones from last year - Dancefloor. Our beloved cuddle bear Marilyn Manson drops his new album Born Villain on May 1st! On it comes this cover of Carly Simon's You're So Vain - featuring Johnny Depp on guitars!  The original is one of our all time favorite 70's tracks and pretty untouchable but Mar and John give it a fair go, haha. Thoughts?
